I just finished reading it today. There's a LOT in there - it's the kind of book to reread a couple of times, to let each of the concepts sink in while working along with it and getting the work done. I loved it, and am restarting it again this weekend.
I can't believe almost 2 years have passed since I joined here!
Well, as time has gone by I have turned into a daily "creator"...I try to create something every day:
Write (my books)
Write meditation scripts
I can't say that I've joined the fastlane yet in terms of income -...
It sounds like you’re already paving the path to a much more mindful and successful future!
If there’s any advice I’d give to my 20 year old self, it would be...
You’re going to fall down many times along this path of life. Be kind to yourself as you get up again and move forward...
Although I watch certain shows in the evenings, I still read every day (and I buy books too).
I read almost a book a day (ebooks) - fiction. And maybe 1/4 of a non fiction book a day.
I send print books as gifts. Those are certain non fiction books that I think are lovely and timeless...
Be "selectively ignorant."
Ignore topics that drain your attention.
Unfollow people that drain your energy.
Abandon projects that drain your time.
Do not keep up with it all. The more selectively ignorant you become, the more broadly knowledgable you can be.
One thing I’ve noticed from doing this type of meditation in the past is that when you get used to the sitting in contemplation or simple silence, a sensation of joy feels like it’s rising from the abdominal area. It’s a very lovely feeling.
Interested in what you all experience from this…
What a great idea!
I love meditation and have used it since childhood. There are so many interesting ways to meditate. My favorites are:
Breathwork - breathe in deeply counting to 4 and exhale counting to 6
Walking meditations – taking in the sights, sounds, colors and textures when going...
I never thought I’d have kids. Well I was told by my doc in my 20s that it would be almost impossible.
2 kids later and yes it changes everything.
There are certain things I can’t do now that I have kids. But when I think about it, I’m not sure that I’d want to do them anyway anymore.
Thank you so much for this!
I have a question on a release I'm holding off on... I have a fiction trilogy coming out. Books 1 and 2 are ready.
The major storylines are wrapped up by the end of the book 2.
I haven't written the 3rd book yet.
I'm thinking of waiting until all 3 books are ready...
