Maybe finding a designer that is interested in starting a business with you (likely after you have sold him some leads so that he knows you gab sell).
He could take care of the design work and ultimatively outsourcing/hiring more good designers.

As someone that had/has the same challenge with outbound sales here is my suggestion:
Start with what is most uncomfortable to you.
And take massive action until the fear is done.
So don't quit after 5 networking events because you haven't made a sale. Make it...
Mind you this is just my opinion.
I would say mindset and ambition are the most important factors.
All the others factors mentioned in the thread are likely just as important but of little use if you have a shitty mindset and no ambition.
