I have. I had a button with a price. As they clicked it, it took them to a page that said "coming soon" and have them enter their email.

I totally agree. While being in the industry has its advantages (know about the problems that plague the industry), I also feel like a certain amount of outside-the-box thinking is lost. Your no longer able to see the problems differently as a newcomer might.
