    Should I just goto Kickstarter?

I guess app was the wrong term to use. It’s more of an educational video game than an actual app. Video games do really well on Kickstarter I’m not sure but I think my idea might stand out. But that what I’m really looking for to see if this idea will have any traction whatsoever. I just need...

    Should I just goto Kickstarter?

I’m quoting prices with a few freelancers now. As for time? About 3 months for a minimum viable product. The thing with presale is that it’s pretty much Kickstarter only with more work. Have you used this method?

    Should I just goto Kickstarter?

Yes I’ve noticed physical products are the norm on kickstarter minus the video games which my app is somewhat similar too so that’s why I considered Kickstarter. It’s not a barebones service app but more so it game-ifies learning

    Should I just goto Kickstarter?

so long story short, after getting tired of the dead end gig to gig cycle I was trapped in as a freelancer last year, I decided to get a day job to help fund my first potential fastlane idea. The business idea is a educational app that will work like a monthly subscription service. It’s been 3...

EXECUTION Building a video games business from scratch

Oh now i see what you mean. If youre just dipping your foot into each facet of game development I agree that is needed. I guess i sort of overlooked that since most of my childhood summers were spent picking up a new game engine and doing everything from art to coding myself so i probably...

EXECUTION Building a video games business from scratch

If thats what you feel is best for you man go for it. Im still gonna say this is driven by ego haha and theres nothing wrong with that. My intention was just to let you know it will take much longer. But looking at it from afar, lets say you spent a year focusing on nothing but music. Every day...

EXECUTION Building a video games business from scratch

Im currently pursuing a fastlane similar to yours. Ive actually spent half my 20's in and out of the games industry working on freelance projects as a 2D artist, Concept artist. Now after realizing I dont want to be an art machine for someone else's business system, Ive found a lane in game dev...

    Is a graphic novel / self-publishing fastlane?

Looking at it this way, yes comics is indeed slow but can be a fastlane. What I will do is make a short sample. A teaser chapter and post it everywhere. Link to a newsletter and see if anything hits. If not, it’s going back to passion project.

    Is a graphic novel / self-publishing fastlane?

To answer all of your questions in order 1) exactly as you described I will use youtube and instagram to drive traffic to my comic. 2) there are tons of sites like webtoons and Taptastic where artists can post their comics. The problem is almost 90% of these comics are weird poorly drawn anime...

    Is a graphic novel / self-publishing fastlane?

    Is a graphic novel / self-publishing fastlane?

I’ve been struggling with this since i started internalizing the concepts presented in MDF. Simply put, I’m an artist and I’ve been “working” on a graphic novel for the last year and a half. Most of that time was spent fantasizing about how awesome it’s going to be instead of putting it out...

The cost of your dreams Chapter 37 of Millionaire Fastlane

Ah did not think about that. Again I’m still financially illiterate. So you’re saying it’s better to buy a house and car outright once you reach ideal business system/money system targets? And the 7k was just an estimate based on my dream of taking 3 months out the year to learn a new skill. I...

The cost of your dreams Chapter 37 of Millionaire Fastlane

Exactly I’m not trying to live some baller lifestyle, just simply doing the exercise presented in that chapter. There’s a Kanye lyric that goes “shoot for the stars, land on a cloud”. I’d rather prepare myself and work on something that could potentially make tens of thousands than a couple...

The cost of your dreams Chapter 37 of Millionaire Fastlane

That was based off gross monthly income, not the ideal monthly income target from a business system

The cost of your dreams Chapter 37 of Millionaire Fastlane

I am actually :) I’m thinking of starting a log here of the execution I do everyday to sort of be able to map every step. This was a fun practice to know what the end goal can potentially look like. But now it’s time to step back into reality and manifest it

The cost of your dreams Chapter 37 of Millionaire Fastlane

Thanks for the reply I totally get where you’re coming from and I agree. The way I approached this exercise was the perfect end goal. Not sure if that’s what MJ wanted you to do in the book. Being honest if I were to stay a bachelor and just be free of the 9 - 5 completely, 6 to $7000 a month...

The cost of your dreams Chapter 37 of Millionaire Fastlane

So I’m currently on chapter 37 of MF, and after spending a couple hours working on it, I’ve mapped out my roads destination. I thought I would share it here to keep myself accountable and make it real to me instead of having it in a google doc that only I have access to. The lifestyle: A...

When and how should I create a minimum viable product?

It’s a passive income product like a digital course meaning I create it once. But it’s interactive also which would require programming that’s why I say it could take a year. Thinking about it a bit more the absolute bare minimum I could do is create a short video explaining what the app would...

When and how should I create a minimum viable product?

so to get straight to it, I have this idea for an educational product and after talking to someone with 8 years in the industry, I was told there’s definitely a place for my product. The thing is, I know even a minimum viable product could take thousands of dollars and at least a year in a half...
