I agree with MJ. At first when I heard this parable, I thought it was insightful and clever. Which for a guy who hates his life trying to build a fishing empire just so that one day he can take his afternoon nap, it might be a useful parable. But if someone is using it as an excuse to not...
Advice I would give to my 21 year old self:
1. Keep/find people in your life close that know your strengths and weaknesses, and will help you see perspective before you make an idiot mistake. Example: Dating a person that doesn't care for your values. It will cause pain and waste a lot of time...
Thanks for sharing! I'm learning number 4. on your list. "You can fail as long as you learn and get experience." If you're looking for a mentor, I know you'll find one here. And you can check out @LightHouse too.
Good to hear this story, I know that there’s many like myself that have so much to learn. So I’m sure you’ll be able to add much value in some capacity. Can’t wait to hear from you!

Never the less, the point is I found myself slipping...
I read "The Great Rat Race Escape." It was very good and very valuable! I loved the story plus the information, it was very engaging! I thought it was perfect that the characters read the books I've read and listening to their reactions. So Good! I'll be referencing this book many times.
The main reason? Because that's where my girlfriend is from, and she's very supportive. The summers are warm, lakes are great. The trees during the fall are great. The Winters are cold and snowy. I enjoy the change in scenery. All my family and friends live on the West Coast of the US, and I've...
I joined and recently read "The Millionaire Fastlane." I live in Washington, USA, I'm in my late 20's, and I have been working in warehousing jobs since out of high school. The job I currently work at I've been at for 3 years for $14.50 an hour and I've hated every moment of it. Iv'e always...
