Well I woke up to my furnace being broken.
Normally wouldn't care but it's currently the coldest day of the year at -40 where I'm at. For that wondering, that's the same in both C and F because at this temperature, both imperial and metric agree that it's just too F*cking cold.
I don't want to touch the 'real' vs 'fake' news topic, but I will say Twitter has always been best at figuring out what the hell is going on locally when some "event" happens.
I remember a few years back I woke up to what sounded like an explosion in the distance. I almost never check Twitter...
My first thought when I hit your link was "this looks like a cheap etsy shop."
Then I thought "oh, wait, I bet he linked us to a sub-page for an 'all items' search or something" but then I saw I was actually on your home page after all.
The website has zero personality and the items displayed...
Are folks generally advocating copywriting as an actual business idea?
I've always seen it recommended as a side hustle or short term income stream (instead of a typical job), but very rarely do I see folks advocating for it as an actual business.
I've done freelance copywriting myself here...
That's almost certainly not permitted under any short term rental agreement.
In a traditional subletting agreement (which is allowed in most places, to my knowledge) I also don't believe you are allowed to profit from the arrangement.
So from my non-expert understanding, it either wouldn't...
You're in the last year of high school, and you want to drop out? That's beyond stupid and only shows your immaturity.
A normal job will not make you rich, but it WILL fund whatever venture you want to start. How are you going to raise the funds to start and grow a business if you can't get a...
I know people on here hate on Ramit Sethi for being "slowlane" but I can't honestly think of someone who gives better, more effective slowlane advice for stuff like this. His book is, IMHO, the best slowlane book on the market - I used his advice to get my wife 2 raises and a promotion within 3...
If you have lots of money and little time - you hire it out.
If you have lots of time and little money - you learn it.
That being said, most people are in the middle - they have a bit of time and they have a bit of money and they don't know where to invest either.
IMHO, if there was a...
I assume you're talking about the big metal commercial garbage containers and not residential plastic trash bins?
Do all commercial bins have drainage holes? You'd look really silly showing up with a pressure washer and end up trying to figure out how to remove a few inches of water from the...
McAfee and Norton have shifted their business approach to bundling their garbage into other software packages and offering "exclusive" free trials and discounts.
Anecdotally, I know a lot of older folks who get sucked into using them because they feel they are getting a great deal. I've tried...
Something that helps me when mine flares up is to take every finger, and bend it back towards the back of your wrist as far as it will go until it's stretched and uncomfortable without being painful and hold it there for a few seconds. I do this a few times a day and it usually starts feeling...
I'm just about to finish "Sapiens - A brief history of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari.
Honestly one of the more fascinating books I've read in a while. I think it may be an uncomfortable read for some though, as it really picks apart a few "hard beliefs" people may have from a very...
Tell me about it - I've uninstalled One Drive like 20 times and every windows updates it comes right back without my permission (although it's been a while - maybe they changed that finally?).
Like @Kak said, you can turn a lot of the crap off and uninstall most of it (first thing I do on a new...
Do you like Kimchi?
Most days I have 3 eggs topped with a bit of kimchi for breakfast. Extremely healthy, cheap, easy, and filling. Keeps me going until dinner.
FYI - Calibre is a fantastic and powerful (and free, and open source) computer program for managing (and reading, I suppose) ebooks.
It can convert just about any ebook format into any other ebook format as well, which is what I use it for. Turn a pdf or epub file into a .mobi kindle file, for...
I'm really tired of being treated like a child by companies.
I was listening to Youtube music recently, which I actually pay for, and my music stopped suddenly. I checked my phone and see this shit:
I checked my settings and had all the censorship options turned off. After some googling, I...
The key to most issues, including this one, comes down to personal accountability.
Put another way - you can't control others, so ignore that part, and only consider what YOU can do to solve the problem and reach your goal.
For example, let's look at your complaints:
1. "usually messy kitchen"...
Anonymity is typically "good" in the context of protecting a user's personal information so they can reveal details that may pose some genuine risk to them if not anonymized.
Anonymity is typically "bad" in the context of general public discourse though. It encourages (or at the very least...
I use LastPass.
From what I can gather, your vault is still safe, or at least as safe as your master password is secure.
Now, something IMPORTANT to keep in mind is that the chart GPM posted about is both correct and also misleading. It's true that a random 15 character password of upper and...
