I guess my definition of sacrifice is different than yours and @thechosen1's.
I don't know what these moral issues you brought up have to do with my original question. Seems like you are pushing moral values when the topic of the thread is entirely different.
Sacrifice for me is sacrificing...
Can you elaborate on this? I've been lifting since when I was 15 and never skipped a workout since (unless I was completely sick) so I know what's sacrifice. And if that isn't sacrifice then the fitness industry wouldn't be so profitable and people wouldn't need "motivation" from some roided up...
I didn't mention a few things. I think it's a kind of accomplishment. I dropped out of uni and taught myself how to code and found a job after 4 months in a foreign country which is way better than the country I was born in.
But I agree, if my goal is entrepreneurship this is not a real...
I appreciate the take, however, I think there's a time for everything. I'm not big on travelling for example. Whenever I travel all I wanna do is work or go to the gym because I get bored easily.
That's why I don't take vacations. Taking a vacation when you're "poor"/middle class is miserable...
That's indeed what's happening. I act like I'm gonna live forever.
There are those who, as MJ says, YOLO and live paycheck to paycheck (live in the present), and those who, on the other end of the spectrum, save every penny and never reward themselves (live in the future).
Now the question is...
If we look at it that way, it's true. I worked a job and saved money, some people would consider that achievement. Maybe it's because they have timid goals. I guess it's about perspective.
I noticed I've been delaying consumption for a couple of years now. I use a Chinese 100$ phone, wear clothes I bought 6 years ago, have no car, and generally speaking I don't consume shit.
I don't have social media/Netflix either because that's an even worse kind of consumption. You consume...
In today's world, we are more prone to feel lonely because of social media and the rapidness of the digital world. It doesn't matter anymore whether you have a prefrontal cortex or not, social media is here to F*ck it up for you. Gen Z has the attention span and self-awareness of a chimpanzee...
I see this all the time. People fall for the shortcut that does not exist. Web development is not easy and it's not a get rich quick strategy.
If you are not willing to code everyday for 10 hours multiplied for 14+ months, don't even bother. That's how long it took me to get good at it. The...
The majority of this forum focuses on informative web design from what I see.
What I do is more web development for web apps (SPAs), using frameworks like React or Vue, plus back-end development with REST/GraphQL APIs.
I think making websites for companies isn't real added value in 2021(22)...
I've been working 9-5 as a front-end dev for 2 months but I'm already sick of it. I think what I'm sick of is the fact that my company doesn't allow for remote working more than 1-2 days a week, plus the commute/staying in a cubicle. My company is in the financial sector so anything you could...
I'm looking to hire some people to help me build my business. I'm a web developer but the platform I am building is, unfortunately, going to take a long time and I need some help.
I was wondering if anyone knows a great book on hiring people. I'm not talking about just the act of hiring great...
I've been building a platform in this industry since May. Site is almost done but needs the implementation of P2P messaging and payment system. I'm looking for someone who has blockchain Dev experience. I'm a full stack dev with a focus on the front-end and design so if you have back end skills...
Yeah the place is Amsterdam and I guess you're right. I should be able to find something if I look every day. Anyways I think the term "hostel" makes you think of some place with broken walls and dirt all around but this hostel looks very good from the pictures and reminds me of college dorms...
I'm probably moving in a month from my parents' home and away from my country.
I don't have any money left but I'm moving out because I got a job offer abroad. That said, I was wondering whether to save money on rent so I can launch my business in 3-4 months or rent a "decent" place that costs...
Analyze the most famous businesses and figure out what they have in common. Look at Coca-Cola, Ferrari, Louis Vuitton, Facebook.
Some hints: they stand for something, their name is well known/recognized, they impacted many people (whether positively or negatively), they have a mission/purpose...
I've been building an online business for 3 months (no, it's not a blog/dropshipping website). I predict it will take me another 3-4 months to complete.
I was wondering, should I register the trademark right away or wait for the first customers/users before?
I've read it takes 12-18 months to...
Accidentally. It's a stupid move though, I understand now.
Not for long, hopefully.
Indeed I thought about this after the event and facepalmed.
