I look at this and I see a fully renovated gas station, with a fixed up C-store, and a little fast food franchise on one side. Maybe some ice vending too if the location is right for it.

What do you see?

I'm always imagining things better and looking for the opportunity.
For some reason I see a zombie apocalypse…

I see a boat there - is it near a marina? If so, you will sell lots of gas.

The ice vending would do great near a marina too - fishermen will want ice to preserve their catch, and people going boating will want to fill their coolers.

If it is near the water, a fast-casual seafood joint would make a lot of sense.

Maybe later on you could put a small motel or spots for RVs, if space allows. It could be awesome!

Just make sure to go deep on your due diligence for environmental stuff. If there was a gas leak, you might be responsible for cleanup if you buy it - before you can do anything there. It can be expensive! (They are pretty strict in MA, but it might not be like that in other states). Don't let that scare you away though, it is just a process like anything else.

Heck yeah! I'm not really sure about this property, just starting a conversation about opportunity.

I'm a big believer that what looks like trash to one person is pure gold to the right person.

For some reason I see a zombie apocalypse…

Lol I can totally see a live action zombie game there. Sort of like an escape room but hire actors as zombies. Get a group of friends to pay you a few hundred bucks to survive 1-2 hours there while trying to retrieve some kind of an item.

Did any films or TV shows during the pandemic show Americans wearing their masks? Hollywood usually avoids dating their shows because it can break the "suspension of disbelief" of future audiences. Indie films with "stolen footage" (non-sensual) of public crowds might have some.

So my son has a pretty bad cough and lots of boogers and mucus. We went to the doctor, to me his cough sounds like bronchitis or something similar, but what do I know.

My daughter had a milder version of it first, and my wife is now getting sick. I'm mostly fine.

Doctor tells us it is alergies and tells us to buy three things. We get them and I do the research later on it.

One is a liquid antihistamine, one is a liquid cough suppressant, and one is a powder for breathing issues and asthma.

Let's check out the last ones safety issues shall we?

Uhhhhhh. Wtf???? No thanks. He doesn't even have breathing issues other than his congestion!!!!! Why would you tell us to get this you quack? I want to go back and punch him in the face.
Reminds me of the doctor who prescribed a drug that causes birth defects, to my wife, while she was pregnant. Good thing I always read labels.

What a ridiculous story and what a terrible world for photographers these days:

In this day, Instagram is your quick-look personal portfolio, how impactful do you think this will be for you?
How to recover eight years of followers overnight? But above all an impact of credibility with new customers who do not really know you. Now, as a photographer, when you sign photo coverage contracts, clients or future partners almost always ask you how many followers you have.

Like being contacted by brands since you have a lot of followers. These are now the rules of the game. Instagram has revolutionised the code for our job as photographers. You are now almost judged by the number of followers you have rather than your quality of work. Now imagine my situation... it's like starting all over again.

Kind of similar to judging the quality of people based on their number of followers. Or deciding who's influential just because they have a nice a$$ and big tits many followers.

And of course Instagram cares a lot about the poor fools users:

I remember a few other notable surf photogs had something similar happen – can you even contact Instagram these days?
The Meta group (instagram/facebook/whatsapp) is no longer reachable. Before you could send an email to the help centre platform. Now there's no more direct contact and this is where I deplore the Meta system which spends it's time knocking emails out, telling us that we are protected. And in the end when you are hacked, well there is no one to help you at home, just follow predefined procedures like a robot.

Fecking scammers - hacking people’s accounts and holding them to ransom. Why not use their cunning to earn money by adding value to the world?

A horrible lesson on the commandment of control.

I think if we create synthetic wombs we can be on the road to truly removing the economic earnings gap by completely removing the need for women! No women, no wage gap! Problem solved.
Yeah what's funny is that they tweet about these being beneficial for women, but what all this will do is remove a gender's need for the other one.
Women will have surrogate wombs. Men will get sex dolls + VR porn

I look at this and I see a fully renovated gas station, with a fixed up C-store

There was a guy here some years ago (@MidwestLandlord) who was one of my favorite posters. He used to own a chain of gas, C-store stations that was slowly put out of business by the big corporate gas stations like QuikTrip. Then he started distributing some type of food snack to convenience stores (think: CrackerJack).

Then he got divorced.

Then we never saw him again.

It's too bad, I'd love to hear what he's up to now. I did reach out to him last year to see if he'd come back and he alluded he would, but it never happened.

I've read some of his posts and they were great. Maybe he's bounced back and doing better than ever.

That's a great pivot, and genius idea.

Here's a good heuristic to what you should be working on - it's that thing that you don't want to do that you keep putting off.

Just F*cking do it.

I know there are some angry anti-maskers in here. I am frontline medical and the mask has been the infection control staple since we figured out germ theory of disease in 1881. There is no “sheep” to it. It’s mitigation. But if you guys want us to forego the mask, glove, gown staple at your next procedure warn us first so we can call the insurer to prepare for your lawsuit. The germ theory will outlive all of you. Also: Kids don’t wear masks under 12 in my country. Being anti-mask over this particular viral illness is cherry picking the laws of infection control to suit. Like Christians cherry pick the bible.

If I was about to go for surgery and the nurse was wearing a dirty fabric mask I’d forego the surgery.

Making people wear masks for covid but not the flu is cherry-picking viruses like cherry-picking from studies and data.

That's some strawman you're arguing with there. I doubt there's anyone here who thinks hospital staff should not wear masks, gloves, etc. And hey, food service workers should probably wear hair nets, and even wash their hands! So yep, you're right and everyone arguing against the germ theory of disease (lol! how controversial!) is wrong... except nobody ever argued the idiotic position you just tried to counter.

I tell my daughter that we're barbarians who crawled out of the woods to join civilization for a while.

Can confirm - I'm 6'2 and Rab towers over me. He also carries a bludgeon and a skull. His daughter does too.

Yeah, I should clarify... I tell my daughter that we are barbarians who crawled out of the woods, because we are in fact barbarians who crawled out of the woods. We don't bite though! I mean, we don't bite our friends.

The institutions you work for presided over the fattest period in human history. Great job standing around while seed oils and processed garbage infiltrated our foods and turned normal people into obese monstrosities.

but yeah, "muh masks"
