Trump just announced TikTok will be banned in 45 days, along with wechat. Huge numbers of people use those apps in the US.
Those users will have to go somewhere.
Perhaps an opportunity

I feel Instagram jumped on it as they introduced reels.

Yep, Instagram have also been in contact with Influencers on Tik Tok to get them across. Isn't there an opportunity for Microsoft to buy Tik Tok and thus stay live in the USA? In the mean time Instagram will incorporate as much of the features as they can to encourage people onto their platform.

Interestingly, for probably the last 3 years or so, our IG account growth has been methodically steady. In the last 2 months, all of a sudden it's been booming. A lot of accounts in my niche have been the same. I get the feeling IG have relaxed their algorithms to allow accounts to grow, the keep them on the platform. Or maybe thats tin foil hat stuff, has been a strange coincidence though.

Totally man. I feel so much shit is happening in everything right now that the noise level is way too high lol. But ya instagram (FB, what's app etc) are grabbing it all.

Triller is a Tik Tok clone that I know a bunch of influencers have been jumping to this week.

A lot of the "LA Influencer" crowds have been pushing it hard.

I am still sticking to tiktok as a marketing channel.

I am not based in U.S. It is all smoke and mirror until Trump shows me how you can get around with first amendment issue.

There is still VPN for U.S. users.

Unless Trump orders Apple to remove it from its stores and teleco to block access, and actively use police power to check to do a “body search” to see if the teens have been using vpn to get around with the telco ban...It just sounds to ridiculous?
