Hello Guys,

I am Marcel, 24 years old, from Germany.

Firstly, many many thanks to everyone who takes the time to read my post, I know how valuable your time is but I will think hard about every advice and food for thought you give to me! So please see it as an oppotunity to do good.

Currently I am a Trainee for an soul draining office job that pays me about 600$ a month while working 40h/week. I dropped out of university 2 times studying informatics because of my dads wish for me to become an IT specialist that earns "good money" while being hardly interested in the stuff they taught me there.

My life is horrible and according to my relatives it is almost over for me to become wealthy. They say all I can do is to stay in the company I hate, work hard and try to climb up the corporate ladder.

But that doesn't matter. I don't believe the thoughts of the mass. I know I need to create value for others and have no problem to sacrifice all things that need to be sacrificed if that leads to my happieness.

I already read TMF and I am at 20% of Unscripted .

Also I read some other books lately, like

How to win friends
Cashvertising
Atomic Habits
4 Hour work week
Rich dad poor dad
7 Habits of highly effective people
etc.

and although they all contain valueable advice I think

My problem is that I DO THE WRONG THINGS, I try to get forward but the direction I set is wrong.

I tried to become a youtuber that gives advice for some months - fail
I tried video editing and wanted to get better so I can freelance to get out of my job until I realized that there is maybe not so much money to make in the near future even I practise a lot... how will that make me a millionaire - fail
I tried to become a streamer because I was a very good gamer in my youth (top 100 regionwide sometimes and I never made something out of it) until I noticed that this is probably the most stupid thing I've thought in the last months. Mega fail

I know a business must fit the CENTS formula and the things I tried were probably too selfish but I don't know anything better at the moment.

Is there any advise you could give me? Am I doing something fundamently wrong? What should I consider? Should I just keep going?

Thank you and have a good day!

Don't try, stick to it till it works out or you get a definite signal of a failure.

Don't focus too much on hitting full CENTS with your first business especially Time and Scale.

YouTube and video editing might get you somewhere. Like making video promotions, ads or scaling it with freelancers

What did you learn from that experience?

If you learn something every time you fail, you're doing it right.

Is the office job soul draining.... or are you?

So much negative spin in your intro.

Change your attitude and it will really help you moving forward. You will be amazed at the clarity when the lenses you are looking through are gone. Your world is colored by you.

Thank you for your answers! You are right. I will try to keep improving myself and produce more and more until I succeed with something.

But I am still very unhappy about my job, just thinking positively unfortunately does not help me much. Hopefully my situation will get better over time.
I will keep an eye on the forum.

Again, thanks to all of you who answered!

You miss the point. Your situation will not get better without a change in YOU. Happy people are happy in most situations. Not just when things magically go their way.

There's definitely a lot of negativity in your mindset based on your post. However, failure is a part of the journey. You'll see lots of Fastlaners talk about how they welcome failure, because at least they're taking action.

Keep on grinding, especially when times are hard.

Define your "Whys" (why you want to start a business and succeed) and that will give you some clarity, and also the necessary injection of hustle when things get really hard.

It seems to me like you are focused on doing things you want to do. I recommend you take some time and look for needs that need fulfilling. Don't chase money, attract it. I read that in a couple really good books by this guy named MJ. :smile2:
