It's crazy how such an important issue like NN, and the fate of the internet, can be decided by a panel of 5 unknowns whom the average man (or even most of us here) never even knew existed. The effects of NN could and will trickle down to all countries in the world and will affect even non-US citizens.

Ajit Pai? Who the F is this guy and how did he get so much power? :smuggy:

Exactly...This is insane.

The funny thing is basically no one wants to get rid of this except the service providers, but because they have the biggest wallets....

Net Neutrality was a horrible legislation. Do not let the "nice name" blind you to what it really was -- a heavy-handed govermnent oversight and price contol scheme. The sky will not fall now that Net Neutrality is gone. The internet was working just fine 2 years ago, and it will keep working like it was or better. The market is more likely to regulate itself more optimally than any government can.

There are many legitimate cases when some internet channels should be allwed to pay more to get their content pushed through faster: self-driving cars, streaming services where an interruption is undesired, trading and investing platforms. Under Net Neutrality Comcast and AT&T were not interested in investing into adding bandwidth for those companies because they were not allowed to charge them more for a faster service.

Free speech should be protected. Absoutly. But not through price controls.

And the real problem here is not the unfair treatment but the lack of competition in the telecommunications industry. How are you going to encourage anyone in this industry to compete, for new players to enter, if the government regulates the prices and the profits?
