Quick tip/advice for those importing from alibaba and selling on Amazon.
The questions been asked more than a thousand times: "should I ship direct to FBA from my supplier or should I ship it to FBA myself?"
Similar to Amazon partnered carriers (deeply-discounted rates to ship your packages to Amazon), Alibaba also has partnered carriers (UPS & FedEx) in which the suppliers receive excellent discounts when shipping your products. It's called "Alibaba Express Shipping." However, this program does NOT support direct shipments to Amazon warehouses.
Keep in mind, a lot of suppliers know about this but they add a few extra dollars to your shipping amount to increase their bottom line. Next time you place an order, tell your supplier to give you quotes based on Alibaba's express program. They should give you quotes for the following services:
FedEx IP & IE (international priority & international express)
UPS Saver & Expedited
Hope this helps someone out there.
