"Thinking about starting a business? Here is why you shouldn’t!"

Not even McDonalds would hire me! Apparently my deep-seated misanthropy gets in the way of good customer service... I guess I'll have to live with receiving hand-outs from the gov't.

"Thinking about starting a business? Here is why you shouldn’t!"

The more I'm learning about entrepreneurship, the more I'm starting to realize that I'll never be a successful entrepreneur. This guy's article is the last straw -- I'm a pathetic loser and I'll go get a job.

"IRS: We’ve got what it takes to take what you’ve got." Figure out myself how to navigate the American justice system to make sure I don't screw up incorporating there? :) But I have done my homework, and it seems that an Internet business is the only fast lane opportunity which...

Problem is, I don't live in the USA, nor am I an American citizen, so incorporating there would cost me greatly. I would, for instance, need to hire legal counsel too. Besides, how would I handle taxation? Would I ever get in trouble with the IRS or my country's local IRS? I'm too small right...

The BPs I've read here sound very inspiring! And money-making! Hey MJ, I know that you have experience with Internet ventures, so I was wondering if you could chime in on this thread. Basically, I want to start an Internet business. If I want to sell something, I need to create a legal entity...

What drives you to be appreciative of life?

    MINDSET
Life's short and brutish: you're born, you live a little, and then you die. I might as well enjoy it while I can!

Thanks guys, you're real helpful. Here's my most recent idea: Mentorship market -- want to lose weight? Go find a personal trainer/nutritionist mentor to make sure you're doing it right. Implementation: mentors with a proven track of success can charge for offering mentorship. Those mentors...

That's what I was thinking when I wrote the post above yours! I didn't say that I won't try to find some tourism opportunity because somebody's doing it now, but that I don't know how I can deliver a better product than what's already out there.

Vigilante, thanks for the tourism suggestion -- it's a great idea! There are a handful of established tourism websites out there and, honestly, I don't know how I can offer better products than them or come up with something innovative. I'll keep thinking about this though!

    Internet start-up

Thanks for the advice, Rob. I won't, however, get into a content-based business(e.g., blogging about nutrition) because to monetize it I'd be at the mercy of advertisers and affiliate marketing; I want to be in the driver's seat. I came up with a neat proofreading gig, but I realized that if I...

    Internet start-up

I don't have a Paypal account and I'm wary of using their services because apparently they often screw over non-U.S. customers. I also consider starting an online proofreading business in Romania. What's the best way to monetize it so as to get rich quick? I'm thinking either a subscription or...
