  • I'm trying to rent an apartment in Chicago 3 flat apartment building. It's located near Wrigley Field and has been occupied almost entirely for the past 20 years. This year it seems like the tenant pool is empty. In the past I've had almost 2-4 calls a day when apartment was for rent, this year I'm lucky to get 2-4 calls a week.

I advertise on Craigslist, The Chicago Reader and have signs posted in front of the building. My ad's make the apartment look very attractive. I also have rental services in the area that want to charge 1 months rent (possibly negotiable) if they find a tenant.

Does anyone else have suggestions for advertising media? Should I lower my rent? Give a free month? I never had to do this in 20 years.
