In case anyone is interested, it's now 9 months later and today I closed with something like my 30th client. Genuinely kinda lost count. I know it's 30 or just over but I'd have to look at my invoices. It's been a wild ride and I plan on making a proper post about it all but figured I'd drop by...

How would you spend $1 million dollars and get no sellable value from it?

Hire me as an extremely expensive date doctor. Think the polar opposite of Hitch.

I don't get it. There isn't any design on that page really.

Is it legal to sell modified themes?

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
I'm pretty sure it is. Read the terms of service on the themes on Themeforest. Reusing a theme is illegal according to their TOS. Honestly, screw this guy. I'm not sure about the forum rules about saying to, but, seriously, F*ck him man.

If you were to sell a $1million website with a theme you'd stolen, or even a £10,000 one, I guarantee you - 100% - that the creator of said theme would be able to sue you into the ground. God, I'm so done with this thread. I really wish it wasn't the first one I read on here.

I'm not. You still seriously need to rethink your career if you're considering doing this after all the valid arguments presented against it. When you're a web designer or a web developer, you're given such a huge amount of trust that I, personally, can't even imagine doing what you're...

Is it legal to sell modified themes?

I'm honestly kind of surprised that any developer would be asking this question. If you're just going to customise a theme so completely that it's unrecognisable, then why not just build it from scratch and do what you wish?

If you're going to be changing pretty much everything, then just buy Divi and you can custom build a hundred websites easily. £80 will give you unlimited websites for a year. I don't understand the need to steal a theme if you're selling it. It doesn't make sense to me. In every business venture...

Exactly this. I'm new to this forum though and was unsure if this was something that was promoted here. Theft, I mean. I didn't think so, but wasn't sure.

Tweaking the design should be fine but using it on multiple sites would likely breach the terms of service. I've heard of the clients of web designers having legal troubles after having websites designed using themes without a proper licence, and it would likely end a web designer's career...

Thanks, mate. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster of going between being super busy and loving life, to having no clients and questioning my whole existence. I need to work more on my cold email game so that I don't have any of the quiet moments. Well, either that or get higher paying clients so...

Hey, just thought I'd make a quick introduction. First heard about this form a couple of days ago on Fox's YouTube channel and decided to join. I'm 35 and started my own web design company after studying software development for a year at the Open University. Made a WordPress site for a friend...
