Hello everybody,

About ten days ago I made a commitment to start the entrepreneurship journey. Deciding that I needed to rewire my brain to believe that this is possible lead me to this forum and to TMF and UNSCRIPTED which have been game changers for me in believing what is possible. Right now I am in the process of figuring out how to move forward and what my next steps are on this long journey. I don't know where this will take me and the promise of the challenge to come excites me. I will try to post here and there with my progress when I reach certain milestones.

Thanks for reading see yall around

Hey @Steeltip and welcome the the Fastlane Forum! It's a great place to be if you want to rewire your brain and work on your mindset. You know why? There's a lot of confident people here who have their head game right. And you know the saying... you're the average of the 5 people you spend most of your time with. If you start hanging around here, and joining the conversation, you will soon naturally start shifting your mindset. The forum and the community here is a really powerful place.

I can also recommend one book for you with regards to mindset. It's actually called Mindset, by Carol Dweck. And of course, get started on TMF and UNSCRIPTED those two are absolute gold when it comes to learning about the entrepreneurial journey for the first time.

What's your plan thus far?

Thanks! I am really grateful that I found this place, it seems there is a whole lot of great people and resources on here. I will be sure to check out that book, I am always looking to improve myself and my beliefs.

So far in the way of a plan, I have this some of these steps are being done together
1. Finish Unscripted /Continue educating myself on business with books and forums (potentially a club) (on going)
2. Payoff the remainder of my debt (will be done in May) so I can be as lean as possible when going into the startup phase of a business (May)
3. Formulate a Business idea that fulfills the CENTS requirements and most importantly provides legitimate value. (May)
4. Sculpt my knowledge to be able to execute the idea properly (Once idea and plan is formed)
5. Save money to be able to quit job if needed and/or capital to start a business (Sept/Oct?)
6. Start a business and either quit job or transition from job to business

Thanks for taking your time to reply and thanks again for the suggestions.

This is a good beginning. If you want to move faster, I suggest you think of ways to help others and provide value right now, in your current circumstances. You'll be surprised how fast you can start moving ahead and making money on your own when you're thinking of how you can help others and you're on the lookout for problems. I'd say this is the first step. Once you make this step and you start identifying problems, and helping people solve them, and you do so successfully a few times, it's worth thinking about the rest of CENTS. The central and most important commandment is the middle one: ceNts. The NEED. So you need to find a need first, and then check if it will meet the other commandments. And the easiest way to do that is to try to help others in your current circumstances. Put yourself out there, look for problems, be willing to solve them!

Ok, so what your saying is to perhaps have a few small successes under my belt based on NEED before going for the grand slam with a full CENTS business?

I could definitely see how that would help in the grand scheme of things. Is this a similar path to what you took by chance?

Well you always want to start from NEED, since imo that is the central commandment. If there is no NEED, than none of the other commandments even matter much.

So first identify need, and then you verify if that need (and your solution really) meets the other commandments.

I definitely agree with that 100%, currently, I sell cars at a Ford dealership, and if there is one thing I have learned here. It's that a customer will never ever pay for something that they don't see value in.

No he's not saying that.

There's no reason why your first business can't go Fastlane.

No business will start out meeting all aspects of CENTS.
That happens over time.

A business just needs the potential to satisfy CENTS.

Even your DJ business could be made Fastlane with the right value skew & execution.

In reality, you'll still be grinding away even when your business has achieved CEN & S.

T is always the last piece of the puzzle.

Because time is the most valuable asset we have.

I hadn't thought of it like that man that was some good insight.
