Hi Damien great post you have here,

Sorry its like 2 years later but I have a question: When hiring people and putting out a job post, what do you advertise the job as? Part time work based on a weekly salary or payed per work completed? Do they ever get suspicious you're using a site like fiverr or upwork?

Key Takeaway: If someone consistently makes mistakes and tells you excuses, kick him out of your business. He costs you valuable time and money. Don't be over-sensitive, or rude. Just tell him he has to go.

Note: It's good to be clear from the beginning about what you expect from your employees to avoid situations like these.
This was really valuetaining to me.

Thanks @Damian Pros for the insight!
This was a good read, and your personality has some traits which are good to copy (especially the value of being self-assured and assertive) and get into that entrepreneurial mindset. I too have been outsourcing some of my orders, and after I read your story I am inclined to do this more often.
Greetings from Germany, and may your business prosper!

I tried last week and got rejected.

Somebody on this forum posted a hack for this, but I can't find this topic back.

I am NOT outsourcing in the sense of finding someone to do the work for less than I charge.

I am interviewing, screening, training and ultimately hiring employees that I meet and know personally.

Totally different thing.

It involves more hassle, but the output is infinitely better, you have more control and you build a more legit long term oriented company that has a culture, a structure, a purpose and a vision.

As a full time job opening.

There is no room for part time workers in my companies as I demand full time commitment and search people who are here for the long term, not people who want a temporary gig or money fix.

So, full time pay as well, which could be either 1) standard salary 2) performance based pay or 3) mix depending on one's skills, positions and other fluid factors.

As for the last question, what does it matter how we generate leads?

It's not even a topic of conversation.

Thanks for clarifying this point. So you train before hiring? As in a (paid) internship? Do you have an office or do your employees are free to do the work from where ever and whenever they want?

Should I only open a fiverr business with gigs I've the ability/skill to do myself?
I know it obviously be benficial, but could I start a business without knowing the given skill e.g. coding, but only knowing marketing myself - and therefore just outsource everything and focus on marketing myself.

Thanks for clarifying this point. So you train before hiring? As in a (paid) internship? Do you have an office or do your employees are free to do the work from where ever and whenever they want?

There is a 4 day intensive training period, which is unpaid, where a trainee learns the basics of his applied position.

The reason it is unpaid, is because I want to see how serious they are about getting the job.

No office so far, because I wanted to leverage talent from all over the world, and give my team the freedom to move around the world if they want to, like I do. This is the kind of freedom very few job positions give you, and it's one of the advantages of working for me.

Lately, after my mentor's recommendation I've been thinking about getting an office. You can't ignore the advice of someone who's companies make $100,000,000 a year right?

Grant was adamant about it and he blatantly told me that I don't have a real company because I don't have an office.

I respect him deeply, but he is coming from a different world where working remotely wasn't even an option, so I took this particular piece of advice with a grain of salt.

Here is a clip of our last meeting by the way, if you want to see what else he advised me, that could be useful to you.

View: https://youtu.be/8LSxsNZDVEs

So, about the office thing, my idea is to take what Grant advised me, and blend it into my current model.

I would have an office in a prestigious location like NYC, Dubai or London, but the largest part of my workforce would work remotely from anywhere in the world.

The office in NYC (or else) could also work as a potential reward for worldwide workers. It would be an incentive for them to commit themselves to the company, to get the opportunity to relocate and work there, as it would be something only for the elite performers of the company worldwide.

I don't wanna brag about this, but I think it's a genius idea.

Are you so confident in not just your marketing abilities but also in your leadership, management, training, hiring and interviewing skills to pull this off?

If you had those skills you would be making serious money already, so I doubt that this idea that you have is feasible and it appears to me that you are trying to shortcut the hard work involved in developing a skillset.

I like it that you are thinking out of the box, and trying to protect your time though. You could prove me wrong. I just don't see it possible, based on my experience.

Just found out that @Damian Pros' highly successful Fiverr Account had been banned - I guess if you violate the commandment of control it will catch you sooner or later.

Damn.

His Instagram with 60,000 followers who are inspired by his lifestyle posts and behind the scenes stories are also gone.

Womp.

Hey I am going to give it a shot
I've tried to create an account on upwork and try to delegate it to my cousin's but in order to have a better probability to land a client I should take test .
Is there any way that I can make them take the test without letting them know that I am getting that freelancing work from upwork.
Thanks I advance

Whether it's possible or not, I don't know. But why do you want to make sure they don't know where the work is coming from? After all, they only need to type in "freelance site" into Google and it will come up. Are you worried they will cut out the middleman and go direct? If so you should focus more on them viewing you as a necessary cog in this wheel. What are you doing, or being perceived as doing, that they can't or think they can't?

Only if they type in "freelance site".the thing is that most people are not aware about freelancing gigs.INDIA as a country is hugely crowded with educted people most of them trust and believe in a solid 9-5 job.

I think the value that I add to the client and the worker is get the client get the work done at an affordable price and ensure the worker get paid more than his 9-5 job.(at least for that particular project).

Nope!

It was just about time I exited that business.

I'm involved in other ventures which I'm more passionate about.

And training 7 martial arts full time whilst considering the possibility of fighting professionally.

There was no other option but moving on and closing that chapter of my life.

I try to answer whenever I can, but I am very busy.

Running 3 businesses at 21, launching a book, having a decent social life, building your personal brand, traveling, learning dancing, english, martial arts, going to the gym + a dozen other things I am doing at the moment, puts me on a very tight schedule.

Too much to handle. Unnecessary.

I realized I can simplify my life, be efficient and make more while doing less.

Grats! Curious about the exit. Did you sell, or did you just transition into something that worked better and let the old business fizzle out on its own? If you sold, what was the process like?

That was very sad to hear that the account was suspended! I'm just starting to get serious about this fiverr business and reading a whole lot about it! It has been 3 years since SPXMAC been running and it shuts down last October 2018. May I know what Damian source of income to fund your lifestyle now and what advice would you give to us? Is Fiverr still the viable business to starts with since its violates one of the MJ commandment clearly? @Damian Pros Thank you very much sir! And wish you all the best in your pro fighting journey!

I reversed the suspension.

But as I said, It was about time I exited that business, for the reasons explained in the post above.

All businesses violate the commandment of control.

There will always be some outside influence that has power to cause you trouble. There will always be things that you can't control.

Even with your own website, do you think your hosting provider can't deplatform you?

There are various degrees of control between different business models. You never have absolute control, just illusion of control.

The Fiverr business is excellent, especially for a beginner.

I outline why in this article that Entrepreneur Magazine wrote about me.

But it boils down to giving away a little power in order to:

- get MILLIONS of potential traffic
- a multi-million dollar website infrastructure
- free advertising (Fiverr runs Facebook ads etc for your gigs!)

Pretty good exchange in my opinion.

Can they exercise some authority over you?

Yes, but only if you blatantly break their rules (which my operation did because I neglected upgrading some systems for a long time).

So, there is nothing to worry about, unless you make some big blunder. Mistakes come with a price.

In my case, my negligence turned out to be a gift.

It gave me clarity about what I should be doing.

Now, armed with the massive knowledge and experience I got from my previous ventures, I'm succeeding in all my new ventures pretty easily.

Fiverr was like a fast pace business university.

The difference is, it was a university that paid me.
