I'd like to write a book on what to do to retire early. By 40 or 50 years of age max. I myself am 31 and not retired. However, I think writing a book like this would provide value as it's not the standard retire using Wall Street for 50 years type of book.

What do you guys think?

Same troll?
You asked for his opinion. I completely agree with it.

Who the hell wants to read a book about early retirement from someone who hasn't retired early?

This quote comes to mind:
“Knowledge without mileage equals bullshit.” ~Henry Rollins

EDIT:
Wasn't you who made the post. My bad. Point still stands.

You want to write a book, write a book. Do you want someone to talk you out of it? Do you want someone to talk you into it? Someone to write it for you? I'm not sure the point of the thread...

What do YOU think about it?

How about less asking questions, more getting to work?

You'll learn a lot by writing it, getting it published, self-publishing, trying to market it, getting yourself out there.

Those are skills you can apply elsewhere if this doesn't work.

I think you better interview a lot of people who have retired early.

Wow that's such a cool idea!

Here's how you can name the book:
  • The Billionaire Fastlane
  • The Rich Man's Highway
  • The Millionaire Road
  • The Millionaire Fast-Path

You can also start a forum to go along with the book!

This is the only condition that would make such a book worth reading considering that you haven't retired early. I'd prefer to know their thoughts over yours, but your book could be the mediator. You have no experience in early retirement.

Maybe I could go on some financial forums and ask people who retired before 40 or 50 how they did it. Then, with their, consent, I'd put it in my book. It could end up being a "success story" type of book that people can use for motivation and knowledge on retiring early.

Sounds great. I'd read it.

When's the book finished?

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not lol. I don't know when I'll be finished but I'd like to get it done in 10 days. Starting today I'll being going through some forums. Also, I think I should change the age to under 30 as that would be more of a faslane type of retirement. What do you think would be a good number of stories to create the book? I'm thinking about 100.

Good. Congratulations. You made a plan.

Interview 100 people who retired before they were 30.

That does sound like the beginning of an awesome book. 10 days sounds aggressive. You've got to find a hundred of these people first.

Keep at it. Less talking on the thread, more getting to work.

I mean, you haven't even started the new thread asking if anyone on the forum has retired before 30...

One member on here has written over 100 books and they average 1 per week. I forget their name.

Arguing and reading this thread isn't going to get this book written...

Just do it and shut everybody up.

Until then, this is just blah blah blah.

At first I was like WTF? Troll?

Then after this post, I was like. Ok, thumbs up!

I don't know when I'll be finished but I'd like to get it done in 10 days.

Then after this post. WTF? Troll?

I think I know who you are referring too and that person has years of developing his skills with writing, marketing, and getting it done. You're a total rookie who has to interview over 100 people. Give it 2 to 4 years and update us. But seriously just write a book and see how it goes, if only take 30 days, you can reflect on the process and realities.

Probably there are already similar books out there. But assuming you know the needs/ niche/ value, just break it down so you can start:
  1. for the first 10 days: make a list of the first 10 (or 5 or 1) people you know and contact them.
  2. record the interview, create a youtube channel/ podcast, upload it.
  3. ask for referral from people you interviewed.
  4. repeat until you have enough content for your book

Go interview 100 people who have done it (and done it well) and then publish a book on the lessons you learned.

Call it "What do you do for a living?: How to have it all and retire early!" based on all the viral Youtube videos around this type of topic.

Have a cover with some younger guy on a huge boat with a sports car in front.

Approach a publisher and show this is a viral topic and that it would do really well.

Boom - you make your millions and you throw me 5% for the idea.

Or... write it yourself from your own perspective with no experience of this topic and it sucks.
