Default no money, no job, no business, no degree

So heres my situation and I would love any feedback and advice from you guys...Im 29 years old, well 30 in 2 months so i'll just say 30. I dropped out of highschool, didnt go to college, and have been working crappy job after crappy job since. I have been a sidewalker my entire life, and so has my entire family really (mom and sister both work at walmart and are as broke as I am). I made 40k per year for 2 years of my life and the rest of the time its been 20k or less per year. Not that it matters but I do have an uncle that is fairly successful with a business but he lives in another part of the country so I havent seen him or talked to him in a decade. Ive thought about calling him and asking for some advise buy im afraid he would take it as me asking him for a handout or something which im definately not...im fed up with the way things are and im ready to change. For those wondering also my jobs have been retail clerk, security guard, food server and some other typical stuff you get with no training.

Here is my plan of attack, and like I said earlier all feedback is really appreciated.
Heres what I have right now.
-$1200
-A computer and room in my moms little trailer.
-A copy of The Fastlane Millionaire.
-My health.
-no job, no car, no degree, no special training, and no special skills.

My plan...

1) Get a job, any job. Have to have money to exist and work the rest of my plan.
2) While im working on getting a job ill also study TFLM and look for needs in the market.
3) Once I have a job and have found a need then ill plan from there but until then I think its pointless for me to make further plans because i dont even know which of the fastlane roads to take..author, inventor, internet business, or real estate.

I am starting from scratch and have no direction. Any questions? Any advice?

oh yeah also I have two goals in my life right now and I think they are realistic.
1) to have a networth of atleast $1 million by the time im 35. (then i will decide what path to take from there)
2) to get down to 205 lbs with single digit bodyfat percentage within 8 months from today. Im about 250-260 lbs now. I have put on alot of weight in the last couple years.

I think it can proven time and time again that it's not what you know or what you have, but instead who you know. The best possible thing that you could probably do is get around as many successful people as possible.

Hold on to your cash, continue saving what you can and start making connections.

Sow the successful people that you are around tat you are serious reliable a fast learner and definitely not needy...make yourself useful.

From this opportunities will come and hopefully you'll be ready when they arrive.

Damn, if you can pull through that one I'll add you to "people who inspire me" on facebook.

Start by focusing on your health. If you are serious about this you need to start eating healthy and exercising. It is amazing how good going for a walk can make you feel.

I've found, that once you are successful the things that are REALLY important start to standout.

IE. Health, Relationships, your self-respect/personality.

call your uncle. don't even think about it.

even better, move in with him if you can. offer to help him out around the house. if he doesn't have kids, he probably wouldn't say no.

i wish i had a family member who owned a business. would make my job so much easier as someone who is working on a start-up

You have a lot of learning to do. I would start with MJs book for the inspiration. Then I would go to some more technical stuff that would help you with any business and work your way to a more specific idea.

Nothing beats a good internet startup for keeping costs down.

ya man i dont know...maybe ill call him but doubt i can move in and dont really want to either. Hes got kids and a wife ive never even met and its been so long since i spoke with him it feels like i dont even know him. His business is a trucking company so im sure if it comes to that i can get a cdl and go drive trucks for him over the road. It would be almost impossible to start a business while i was doing that though. It would have to be just a way to get a little start up capital. But you are right i should call him at least.

haha alright man well thats some motivation to get on your "people who inspire me" list...I have always been athletic and thats probably the biggest thing that has stopped me from focusing on making good money was my focus on boxing. I was an amateur boxer until a couple years ago and even went to the olympic trials but didnt make it...Thank you for the help and advice.

Advice?

1. With the attitude that you have, you already outshine 95% of the world. You are unplugged from the matrix and you see the world of opporunity, not the world of despair. Be proud.

2. If you don't have an opportunity that will help support you and your family right now, you need to dedicate time each week to finding one. Bad thing to say to yourself, your family, and us "I don't have an opportunity, and I'm not looking for one." Besides putting food in your belly and gas in the car, you should be spending your time looking for that opportunity. Whether that's a fastlane path, investment path, whatever.

3. Discipline is your biggest friend. Discipline yourself to live by a higher standard. Discipline yourself to exercise, eat right, keep yourself groomed and clean. Discipline yourself to open your ears and listen more than you talk, look for opportunity constantly.

4. Once you find that opportunity, discipline yourself to try. And when it fails (because it probably will) try again, and again, and again, the key to success is to try until you reach success.

You're not alone, some us may have been homeless 6 years ago. You can go a far ways in a short time if you commit yourself and push. Many of the people on this very forum helped me onto the right path, I'm just returning the favor. Get to work!

I think getting your cdl and driving trucks would be a great opportunity for you, if you can handle all the driving. You can listen to audiobooks while you drive and really up your knowledge in any field. You can make some decent money in a few years if you live frugally.

The important word here is "good".
Because it is low cost, there is a low barrier for entry and hence a lot of competition, be it by a lot of not so good internet companies. Coming up with a good internet startup can be a very big challenge. Start of course with finding a need to fill.

What has helped me in the past in starting up was joining forces with one or two other people with the same level of motivation but with different skills. By working together you can get things rolling much faster. However, make sure to potect your rights by making iron clad contracts.

I can already help you with one of your goals.

It's great you have your health and you want to loose the weight. Loosing extra weight is not only physically healthy, but it is mind healthy too. When your body is primed -healthier - (not extra weight) - everything works better. Your mind will become sharper, your creativity will expand and your thoughts will be clearer. Yu will have more energy and you will feel better about yourself overall - and that will carry you through this time of temporary job to new career path to wealth

Check out Mark's Daily Apple then download his free primal blueprint book. Follow his newsletters and consider buying his 21 day transformation book. I didn't buy his book, because the free download and his newsletters were able to give me enough info (I already knew a lot of what this was about before I came across him specifically). This guy is 100% authentic - wait till you see his body at his age. He's out of Malibu.

Your profile isn't filled out - so I dont' know where you live, but I would suggest this for the 'get a job until you can figure out this new plan' try with might to get something that possibly could be along the lines of something you will eventually build.

In other words, if you are going to focus on real estate, perhaps you can be a real estate's assistant so you can start getting to know more about the industry, terminology, and start making connections in this area (an asssitant usually takes all calls first, so you will always be devloping a repoire with individuals as well as the agent you are working for). Do you get the jist I am going with here?

Finally - congrats on not having your past or your family's pathway claim your destiny. But I want to comment on one thing - and I know you did this to let us know where you were at in your stage of life - but I just want to be sure you aren't always thinking this way:

In your post, you focused on the things you don't have. And you stated them probably because in a way you feel they are the part of the definition of you. "no job, no education, no car, no money"

But all these things are not the makeup of the character of person you are. They are just 'things'. Just descriptions of what society dictates should be the norm in everyone's life. You didn't tell us one thing about you that was great or you could do well. So I just want to make sure you aren't going about your days thinking that you are only about having 'no job, no education, no car & no money' You are sooo much more than that and none of those things don't matter at all! Look at all the brilliant individuals who are now millionaires that didn't have any or at least 3 of them too (not sure if some had cars or not).

You can become anything you want to if you have a burning desire to. And you seem to have that burning desire, and a logical plan of action to accompany it. So my request to you is the following: instead of focusing on what you don't have, focus on what you do have and/or what you are good at.

If you don't change your mindset first, success won't come - or it will come slower. Success starts with you internally. You have to work hard on this in the beginning to only say positive things about you or your life. But sooner or later, it becomes the norm for you. Changing your mindset to speak and focus only on the positive is crucial to having a sensational life and to creating the success and abundance you want in all areas of your life. You will find focusing on the positive of you or your life will become easier as you feel better about yourself as well when you loose some of the weight.

Again, I just wanted to make sure you were being a bit more kind to yourself and to encourage you to stop ranking yourself according to societies norms (which we all know these days are quite different than years ago).

Whatever you do - make sure you take at least a 1/2 hour out of every day to either go to a location outside your normal environment. This frees your mind, is healthy and gives you a place to build your dreams. Even if you do this while walking among nature - you don't have to be writing or anything. It's your 'mental & physical escape' from your reality and will keep you fresh and all your goals/dreams very present in your every day.

You are clearly determined - so I know you will achieve all these things you have posted for us. I look forward to hearing what path you choose and how your success journey is going!

Let me know if I can help any further.

the quick other thing I will mention is that the jobs you listed have one thing in common: customer service
at least retail clerk and food server

look for commonalities in your life or what you have done that might be able to help you begin figuring out what job you would temporarily like to take - or something you might want to quickly put up on the internet - not as a main business, but a way to make money for now.

I really find it hard to believe you have no special skills. You already told us you boxed and almost went to the Olympics with it. Not everyone can say that. Focus on that. Find the strength and power in that. Use that! What I mean is, of course, that is athletics, but you can take a lot of what you learned in those trainings and have it applicable to business skills or entrepreneur traits.
ex: Just like the military do when they return from Iraq or Afghanistan. When they return and look for regular jobs, they know an employer doesn't care they can shoot an Ak-47 or the like- but the fact these men/women worked in teams, and worked under severe pressure always, and had to quickly think on their feet, and had to individually always be a leader in some way, and possibly commanded units (managed), etc etc - all these skills are transferable. So please start thinking this way. I think this will open a lot of doors for you.

Even outside of boxing, in regards to your 'no special skills' statement: I bet if I asked you 3 questions, I'd find tons of special skills you have. From now on, positive talk only! Deal?

My 2 recommended readings for you:
1. "Awaken The Giant Within" by Tony Robbins -this is long, so if you prefer - "Personal Power" by Tony Robbins - just as fantastic (shorter read)
2. "The Magic of Thinking Big" by David Joseph Schwartz

Get out there and network. Go volunteer. That is networking too in a way. Build your skills in little ways. Again, all skills can be shown as transferrable. sometimes you have to dissect them and just start thinking differently about what you did each day or what your job entailed to help you define more of your greatness and what you are capable of.

The more value you can offer others, the more tremendous success you will have. That includes the value you can offer others when you network with them. Find something you love and go pursue it with gusto! It will put you on the right path regardless if it's a paid job, your life career path or the smallest thing in the world but it means everything to you. Live - don't just wait until you have xx in your life to really live your life passionately and with enjoyment.

Switch these little things and I can promise you opportunities and people will appear more and more around you

I could still offer more - but I am tired of typing Have a super day!

Well, I'm in a similar situation from you. I have no job, no car, college dropout, about 6 months of living expenses. I'm also 29 and I think I wasted a lot of time in the past that's why I'm actively pursuing my goals nowadays instead of working dead end jobs, I quit my job in April of this year and am living off my savings.

BUT I guess my difference is that I'm writing a book and I'm 2/3 of the way through and it's going really good so far. I believe that I can get it published and into mainstream. I wrote a few ebooks a few years ago and sold some of those but I've only made thousands from those. This is plan A.

Also, I am working on my Internet Startup. That's plan B.

Plan C, is cold call local businesses and see if I can help them with their marketing, email customer lists management, or with some other skills that I have. This is when I start running low on cash as I'm really introverted and don't like to talk to people much or cold call or take on clients. But I'm working on it, I'm going to networking events and getting out there.

I think it's important to figure out WHAT YOU DO HAVE, YOUR SKILLS AND TALENTS, and YOUR PLANS OF ACTION. Then if possible, work on several plans and prioritize. Then you need to figure what it is you want to do and enjoy doing.

So do the eating right/exercise thing. Then find something you can do for immediate cash and then write a list of what you would like to do ideally (your fastlane plan and goals and action steps). Also, keep reading more books and learning new things.

Focus on where you want to go...don't think about your past or the crappy circumstances.

You need to break the goals down into parts. For someone with no money, going from nothing to $20k is a lot easier. Then, it's much easier to go from $20k to $100k. Then, from $100k to $1m is pretty easy. Do something like this. Don't worry about plan 2 until plan 1 is complete.

Man, I feel you spicket. Going from 40k to 20k is a bigger dip than most people think. I went from 55k to 25k in less than a year and rather than be bitter about it, it taught me I shouldnt rely on others when it comes to my finanical future. I put all my life savings into a company which promised me they never saw stocks dip in 30 years and boom, all gone. All I got was an apology and the "blame the economy" speel. What was left was spent on expensive dinners, clothing that was only wore once in a while, and strip clubs.

The hardest thing about being broke is people telling you no, having to explain why you can't do the normal stuff you enjoy, lying to others about what you are doing about it, and really looking at yourself from a finanical stand point. What I miss the most about having more money than I do now is that if you throw enough money at a problem, it will eventually go away. But, you and I know better than that, now?

Actually, you are in a pretty good poistion to make waves in your life. You have no kids, which is hard for most. If you have a fancy pants degree, well, you think you are too good for most jobs which could limit your mind into a new niche. Steve Jobs had a an extreme form of pancreatic cancer yet he was able to produce the ipod, iphone, and ipad. It goes to show you that if you are willing, you might as damn well find a way! Most of my friends, when I tell them about TFLM, they make excuses to why they can't even pick up the damn book in the first place! They use their kids, their families, their jobs, their own insecurities to justify why they can't even BEGIN to start of thinking of other options! I've read a few books in my time but this one has the most useful information and eye opening facts to make you wanna jump up and say "I'm tired of the bullshit and I want to change!"

I bet you 50 million bucks that Steve Jobs would trade places with you, right now. He would trade all the riches he had acquired being with Apple and Pixar, just to be in your shoes. Just to live one more day and do something. And that, my friend, is worth living for.

I really agree with snowbank. If you go out there with the sole goal of making 7 figures by x amount of time you will probably fail. You need to find a repeatable system for making profits and a way to scale that system over time to increase your profits over time.

Also, why do you want to make 7 figures? Does your perfect average day require 7 figures to sustain? What I often find is that the majority of the people I talk to think they need 7 figures to live the life that they desire, but in reality require far less to do so. Thinking this way will lower the mental burden on you and really help refocus your goals.

I always love the people that say, as soon as I make a million dollars a year or if I can just make 100k a month..

They just do not realize.. Make 20k a month, it will change your life.
