    Default How does Facebook and twitter keep spam/registration bots away?

    seems like their registration forms would be extremely easy to spam...

    Any ideas?

    There are many techniques to use within your backend server, search google.

    They don't do it too well if they do it. Many people sell Twitter and Facebook accounts online for marketing purposes (in blocks of 1000)...

    A bot for a specific website will get around almost anything. I have written quite a few of those myself...

    Getting around is one thing, DOS is another. If your a website owner, your trying to protect your website against spam to prevent DOS first and then because its annoying not the other way around.

    I think the question was about spam not DOS...
