Default Need Any PPC Advice? I Can Help

I can't believe I didn't find this forum and read that book earlier in life as it is totally my mindset and has been since 2004. I love this site and want to give back after reading the book.

So if you're confused about Adwords, Facebook Ads, MSN Adcenter or any other Pay per click engine, just post your questions. I know I'm new here, but I've got a lot of experience and knowledge in this area and am willing to help out!

    Fire away!

Alot of people do. It's constantly changing rules and sometimes it's just downright boring work!

But I love doing it as it appeals to my analytical side. It's always best to work on your business instead of in it too.

If there is no sensitive or proprietary information discussed, it would be nice to keep discussions on the public forum so everybody benefits from the info and avoid PPC Coach repeating the same thing over and over...

I replied and as per Sharp's suggestion, all I suggested was that he's got a good solid plan, but the offer he's looking at promoting may not be the best option. I suggested he look at a niche and find several offers in that niche instead of just focusing on one.

CPA offers, (which is what he was asking about), tend to come and go. Meaning if you have a campaign setup that is directing traffic to one offer only, that offer could be taken down by the network at anytime. However if you rotate several offers in the same niche, then if one goes down, you're ok.

I'd go with Adwords if you have a legit product or service to promote. If you're an affiliate of a product go with 7search.com instead.

    Hey coach,

In terms of Facebook ppc and affiliate marketing:

Is direct linking to an affiliate offer ok? Is there a better ROI with a presell landing page? Or does it mainly depend on the niche?

Are there specific niches (bizopp, dating, etc) that convert the best on Facebook? Do you have any hints on a targeted group that converts the best within a niche (i.e. Males 21-24 in Los Angeles convert the best for dating offers)?

    Appreciate the help in advance.

Facebook doesn't like Affiliates. If you're looking to run aff offers on FB, especially dating, I recommend running it via a tracking link either through Prosper202 or my favorite CPVLab.

You can get anything to convert on FB, but the key is to find high CTR images. CTR is king in getting your CPCs auto optimized.

What I suggest when doing dating is to pick an offer that is proven to convert well (True.com, Cupid, Be2) and build a quick LP for the niche you're targeting. In the LP you can use Maxmind's Geo IP and have a bit more creativity with how you want to hit your niche.

One more thing for dating, the quality of your leads will be highest if you stick w/ ages 25+ when running dating for males on FB.

Google hates affiliates way more than FB does and can result in insta-banning your account. The only way to run an affiliate offer is if the advertiser isn't running the offer on the same keywords and you're masking the affiliate link through a tracking platform like p202 or cpvlab.

Facebook is slowly starting to get more and more strict on what they'll allow on their network. Sometimes bizopps that use deceptive practices like fake blogs as landing pages really piss off their users. So they, (FB), are starting to get a lot of data on what type of offers FB users like and don't like. Instead of just accepting it all, they're filtering now for the stuff their users don't like.

In filtering, they know the urls used for affiliate offers. They would just keep a database of affiliate links that users don't like. If your ad has it, it's not going to be approved. That's where preselling with a landing page makes sense.

You have to promote only offers that they like. Start with offers on their own Google Affiliate Network. Those niches and business lines are the ones they will allow on their system. To stay compliant, don't promote anything THEY don't like.

I would take seed keywords and mix and match them with other keywords to build your own long tails.

There are scripts that can do this for you. Everyone chases what the search engines show on their free keyword tools, but those are just part of the keywords out there. The search engines prefer you bid on short tail stuff so they make more money. They know that long tails provide a better ROI, so they naturally don't want to show very many on their free tools.

They're a business too, they're not on your side.

I would try mergewords for this. Free and easy to use, great for combining "seed" keywords.

    Hey PPC Coach,

Any suggestions as to weeding out shit traffic from Adcenter? They give me some good traffic but also a lot of total shit traffic (90%+ bounce rate, 0:02 avg time on site).

I've added some negative keywords, targeted US, CAN, and UK, set ads to run only during the day, and disabled my ads on the weekend.

I just ran a report showing the sites that my ads are showing up on, and it's strange. Unrelated sites are getting a lot impressions AND a pretty good CTR. I can understand the impressions, but why is the CTR good? It makes me think that those sites have a lot of fraud clicks. I visited some of these sites and I can't even find any ads on them. Very suspicious.

    Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi PPC Coach, and thanks for your offer of help.
I'm just starting out so these are probably two typical newbie questions.
First, about image ads for content networks like Adwords and POF. I'm fine with writing ad copy; but getting pics is a mental sticking point for my first ads. Where's a good place and method to get them? eg, should I pay for a freelancer, or try to work out something myself with a stock photo membership, or get them from random sites?
Second q is on recordkeeping. Is there a generic template available to track offers, ads and test results or does everyone come up with their own method?
