I use them just for the domain name and emails (I host somewhere else) and yeah they are cheap. I renewed my domains for 9 years I think for something like $6 per year per domain.
Not sure how their hosting is but I have a friend who uses it and says they are good for that too.
Their phone support has always been very good when I have needed it.
I used them to buy my domain(s). They called me after I bought my first domain and left me a message on my phone(I was to busy to answer), they also sent me a packet with some info in the mail. They seem good but they just advertise and want to get more out of you.
I am hosting them somewhere else right now. I have never hosted with them so I dont know how good they are for that. Everyone says they are not very good, I would know.
I say buy your domains they but host it somewhere else.

this link talks about domains and different services for them.

GoDaddy is my primary registrar -- nowadays I use them for all domain registrations I do. But that's all I use them for, is to register the domain. I don't use them for DNS, hosting, or anything else. I don't buy any of their additional services, even domain privacy or anything like that.
In my opinion they are the #1 top quality registrar available right now. I wouldn't use anyone else for domain registration. The prices are good, they offer free pushes, you really can't go wrong.
Go Daddy is cheap but they charge for alot of extras. I use 1and1 for my domains and hosting. I have used both and I just feel the 1and1 interface is easier to use than Godaddy. One major difference is that 1and1 includes private registration with their $7 prices and Godaddy makes you pay extra for it.
What about custom website design they do this for 49 a month are they any good ? apto I'll keep you in mind for hosting
I have used Godaddy "custom" website. All they gave me was a template that they changed around, and then they charge $50 per month. So of course I just canceled.
Check other places and reviews before you buy.
Thanks

I just started using godaddy for domain registration and for one site I'm about to start using their email service and possibly web hosting later on.
Generally for the complete package, I use www.siteground.com. They're a bit more expensive than godaddy, but they add a TONNE of value. I highly recommend it. They also have free software installation packages you can install in a short moment of time, site builders, webmail, mysql, and lots more. Been with them for about 4 years now, very happy with them![]()
I have a few domains remaining with Godaddy, but the bulk are with Namecheap.com. I keep my hosting separate from my domain companies.
I have a number of domains with namecheap too. They're quite good for registering domains. I haven't checked out hosting etc with them yet. The thing with namecheap tho, their market for selling domain names have a limit of $250. Godaddy has no limits (I think) but their upselling and spamming is an overkill. Have to wade through tones of info to find the next button.
I also host with host gator. They are very reliable. Also you can buy scripts on ebay, or hire a developer at elance. These are cheaper alternatives
