I have material that I think can make a good ebook but I need a way to test it. I don't have a blog with a mailing list, how do I find out if my book will sell?

You can buy some PPC-Traffic (Google Adwords,...) and sell your ebook directly or build a list. If you use a voucher code you can test it for free.

Here's a trick I was taught....

1) Do a google search on the topic and look at what the top 5 resulting sites all have in common in terms of: what they offer, what problem they solve, and what their audience is.

2) Search Amazon for books on the topic. Take a "Look Inside" peek at the table of contents to get an idea about what other people have written on your subject.

The internet has a funny way of telling you what works for your competition. No need for a mailing list to find that out. Just identify what works, what people want, and repackage it with your own creativity and I'm sure you'll do fine. Hope that helps...

P.S. Why don't you start a blog and offer a sample of you material and see how many subscribers you get?

Then you can use ppc and other techniques to drive some traffic to the landing page. Once you have some email addresses you can try to get more of a focused idea as to what they want.

Then you can use ppc and other techniques to drive some traffic to the landing page. Once you have some email addresses you can try to get more of a focused idea as to what they want.

Here is a test we ran the other day for 40 bucks, and took 20 min to set up.

I run a test like this to either validate an idea, test a market, or kill a bad idea fast.

We killed the bad idea.
