    Default mturk questions

For those using mturk for article creation, I have a few questions-

how many do you usually have to reject? i.e.- asking for 500 word article and receiving 200 word article.

Do you copyscape check your articles?

Anything you use to get better results?

How much do you usually pay for a 500 word article?

I feel like I am banging my head against a wall here a bit because the last few hit I put out have returned garbage. Less than 20% acceptable. I am currently offering $1/article. The biggest issue seems to be word count. Most I have rejected have submitted only 60% or less of the requested amount.

I don't use mturk for a "normal" article, for the reasons that you have discovered.

I prefer to find one person to write many articles on a single topic, that way it is more efficient for them and the articles will be better quality.

$1 per 500 words is too low. For my Linkvana posts which are 100 words, I pay .80 per article.

My best tip is when you are selecting the minimum rating that workers have to have to complete your hit, raise it up to 96 (I think 95 is the default). These prevents people who don't have any feedback from doing your jobs, and for me, reduces a lot incoming crap.

For word counts, find an online word count tool and link to it right in your hit - and make it clear that the #1 reason for rejection of hits is too few words.

To find writers for articles try the Warrior Forum, I've found people who will do decent 500 word articles for $2.50 - $5.00 per.
Checks are the most boring purchase you'll ever make for your small business, but if you buy them from your bank, you're paying way too much. Order business checks online and save up to 75% off of bank prices.
