Default Domain Ideas - Soccer Training Website

Hey guys, I'm trying to think of a domain name for a websites that will be based around soccer training information. Any "good" one I can think of is taken and I'm just curious what you guys can come up with.

And thanks again Sparlin for the suggestion of making something like a video in order to just make money "on the side".

    Thanks for any help

Going to be tough ... you might need to go to the secondary market.

Honestly, I'm not really sure what you mean by that. I looked up secondary markets but I didn't find anything that really cleared it up.

One thing that has been mentioned here is to make yourself brandable.
Having a logo would be a good step towards doing that. This creates product recognition when you release new videos, T-shirt, Equipment, etc.

    I like GoalGuru.com

    It's catchy.

It's relevant to the subject you're teaching.

    It's brandable.

You yourself could become THE Goal Guru.

You get to do something you love.

You might be able to make money off of something that you love.

Hell, you might even IMPROVE YOUR OWN GAME just by the repetition of making your videos and the demand for perfect form that you need to exhibit to your followers/customers.

Seems win-win-win-win-win to me Icy. Go for it bro.

I'm glad you didn't totally give up like I thought you were the other day.

    Good luck!

secondary market is buying a domain rather than registering. Sedo.com, namedrive.com, flippa.com, forums.digitalpoint.com are all options for finding domains on the secondary.

Thanks a lot everyone! While there were none that I liked and were available they definitely gave me some ideas to try out. I'll definitely post back here once I figure out a name I want. Granted that could be half a year I take forever to get the "perfect" name (haha, jk although it could be a few days).

Sparlin, yeah, the logo will be the next step. Although come to think of it logos don't really need to be relevant to the name as long as it's memorable (Ex: Monster).

Knowledge - That's one thing I was thinking is that in order for me to even be comfortable with posting videos I'd need to get to a level where I can do things "perfect". Obviously the perfection would in a sense be an illusion (hell, not even professionals are perfect) in the videos but I'd need to be good enough if I don't want to spend all day on one short tutorial.

Thanks for the explanation Kurt. That looks like what I may need to go to because anything good is taken, or atleast what I've looked at.

While you're working on "perfecting" your tutorial videos, you could be working on other aspects of the site.

    Some suggestions:

Type up a Conditioning Program. Recommend how many miles players should be running a night. How many sprints? Stairs? You get the idea.

Type up a Recommended Diet Program for Soccer Players. You could easily find this info on the web and simply alter it into your own to benefit your users.

Type up written exercises and drills that you eventually will put into video format. You could even use these as a guideline somewhat as you make the videos. It'll be easier to put them down on paper first to make sure you cover everything you want to cover, THEN actually do them on camera.

Just curious what you guys think of this:

www.tnlsoccer.com The tnl stands for "The Next Level" which obviously implies the continuous improvement in your game (once you understand what it means. I also think it's easy to remember\say and with "The Next Level" t-shirts and other products could easily be made into motivational shirts to use while training.

Edit: Although I just remembered Nike used "The Next Level" for things in their soccer videos. Could probably run into problems later down the road with that, right? I don't know if they have it trademarked or anything though..

Have you thought of trying some software to help with finding your best advantaged domain name? The people at the 30 Day Challenge recommend Market Samurai.

Sorry Icy. I'm not a fan of it. It is too forgetable for the average person and it sounds more like an informercial/mlm for soccer. That being said, I'm not in the soccer community, so it may mean more to them.

Who is your target market? kids, young adults? This will influence the kind of name you pick. The only way I would think tnlsoccer would work is if you use over the top marketing with shirts and accessories and it just happens to catch on ( like polo, OP, etc.) I'm not an expert, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks everyone and sorry it's taken so long to reply, been busy and any free time has been used to catch up on some sleep. haha

@Baldrick - I've never heard of that. I'm definitely going to look into that in the next couple days

@Sparlin - I think I'd aim it more towards teenagers and that age group. The way they can also contribute and by that age people start to take becoming good more into their own hands.

@Knowledge - Hmm.. Not so fond of that either.. I do appreciate all the suggestions though!

@Everyone - Again, I want to think everyone for investing their time to helping me out with this. For the time being I've decided that I am going to do a blog that I'll keep track on my training for my road to becoming a professional soccer player. I feel that showing a routine to people and showing\discusses different reasons for doing what I am doing can attract people. On top on that I'd probably do a video a week (maybe more) of showing some drills, skills, or something like that to attract people also. Then while I increase the traffic to it I'll also be developing the training videos to sell through it once that is complete. To me, this sounds like the best, and most fun way to go about doing this. Opinions?

Any ideas for a domain name for something like this? Haha, sorry for asking so much.

I recently looked up some domains on for you:

SoccerTrainingWorld.com and KickTraining.com are available. I personally like KickTraining.com since it is easy to remember, relates to your site more.

It's an interesting concept, I wish you the best of luck. If you need a website designed or anything else I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. Check out my company's website below.

How is expressing my opinion and mentioning to an entrepreneur website that I can help them considered spam? This is an entrepreneur forum, clearly they need help with certain aspects of opening a business.

Thanks for the suggestion CloudNine. It's kind of funny just yesterday I finally choose one that I decided to go with. I decdecided to settle with something I considered "good" instead of going for the perfect one since they are all taken! haha

Also, I honestly don't feel like CloudNine was spamming and it's kind of ridiculous to assume that since he mentioned his company. Now I could be wrong because of not seeing his other posts, but there are plenty here that mention they can help through their company. Yes, they are more "established" here but he give advice on domain names and then brought that up. He helped and then suggested something that doesn't take traffic away from here. </rant>

Again, thanks for all the help everyone! In the next few days (maybe a week?) I'll probably have a quick layout of the website up and maybe just a short video or two. I'll definitely make a new topic then!
