Default E-Com pros Need your Intense reviews PLEASE!

Ok so I was going to wait till I finished loading it with products, however, I just changeg a bunch of the obvious.

If anyone can mull this over and see what you would changes esp on the product pages, I was thinging about moving the purchase button over and making it into an arrow and make it lime green? Kinda like "HEY GO BUY!"

Please tear this apart, I have a few things in the pipeline already but I would like to complete my list. Please dont mind the products or product options as im working on them all weekend. Thank you

Read the book, "Dont Make Me Think".

I think you have a great start. Congrats! First thing I noticed is the search field needs to be clarified ... Text Box followed by SEARCH. Don't make me think!

Good point, Maybe ill eliminate the un-needed US dollar Drop box and put search there. I tried to soak up as much stuff as i have seen on the web, i will pick up that book despite not having time to read it right now.

I think your images are too small. I can't see what I'm buying.

Instead of the images on the cartoony cars, just put them on a white or black background and make them bigger.

I think it looks good. I agree with MJ and Biophase. Usually when I look for a search box, I look at the top right side or mainly at the top. Also, the pictures need to be bigger. Show me the films used on real cars, maybe? Are these supposed to be window tinting films?

Great start to the site! Here are my thoughts in 10 quick points:

    1. Excellent that you have the navigation right at the top and little wasted navigation space. Not so good that the first product is halfway down the page.
    2. Date in top left hand corner is unnecessary. There's a saying - "every element on your page either adds or subtracts to the likelihood of your user purchasing something". Does the date add? If not, get rid of it.
    3. "The hottest decals ..." What does it mean they're the hottest? Most popular? Cheapest? ie, what is the value proposition that you want to portray to your market?
    4. ".. on the East Coast, Nationwide" Does this mean you are from the East Coast, serving Nationwide? Or serving East Coast, and nationwide? Somewhat confusing .. possibly oxymoronic?
    5. Secured by Geotrust is good. May want to continue on and add Better Business Bureau, Hackershield, etc in a nice little logo package. Also, top left is *prime* web real estate .. may want to consider moving it top right?
    6. The two cars in the header image don't actually have any stickers on them ... I'm thinking you want to advertise your product there. Perhaps reduce to one car also, otherwise there's redundancy = cognitive overload.
    7. "US Dollar" - any menu with only one option is unnecessary.
    8. The "continue shopping" and "checkout" buttons have a magnifying glass icon next to them. Does this make sense? Perhaps change to an arrow >> to indicate "moving forward".
    9. Search box, already mentioned. I typed some things in the box, then didn't know how to submit the query!
    10. Images definitely need to be large and clear to the customer. I also assume you're still working on unique product descriptions for each one, and the ability to choose color and size (since it says "Pick a color and a size for your body graphics today!")
    11. I like the carbon fiber theme =)

I really look forward to seeing how your site develops. Good job!

Get rid of the cartoonish car pics. You need hi rez pics on real cars, or do away with them like Biophase mentioned.

The site seems easy to navigate which I liked. Even though it says "pick your size and color", I saw nowhere to chose. I'm guessing you're working on that?

Also I would use some REAL pictures of cars. Or at least some better car illustrations. Those cars look like a 3rd graders finger painting.

I see that you have the logos for the credit cards and authorize.net on the bottom, but I think it could add reputability if it's on top in an area with a BBB logo and perhaps the SSL Certificate, too.

I also think you better utilize the "hot web RE" in the top left with something other than the SSL Certificate and a shopping cart image...I don't quite know how, though.

Thanks all i am adding these to a list of things to change. it seems like my wire frame s2000 idea didn't work for the car, i'm going to checkout the competition and see what i come up with. I didn't get a chance to change anything yesterday because i have to do a car before a cover shoot for modified mag

What do you all think of making the add to cart button lime green? maybe making it an arrow?

Also on the suggestion made of the maginfying glass icon in the checkout buttons, what do you think would be good to put there, a check mark? arrow?

What about filling the columns that are white with the CF fill? worth it to draw your eyes into the store? I feel like the white is distracting.

I had planned on moving the image above the text, this is also in case i add the ability for additional images in the future. The pictures i will test xsome stuff on possibly real cars.

I am working on a gallery page, in which you can see all of our work. This way we show customers that there are real people behind the website.

I cant change ittoo much but i might add a promo up top.

    2. Date in top left hand corner is unnecessary. There's a saying - "every element on your page either adds or subtracts to the likelihood of your user purchasing something". Does the date add? If not, get rid of it.

Thanks for this, interesting point i never though of.

    3. "The hottest decals ..." What does it mean they're the hottest? Most popular? Cheapest? ie, what is the value proposition that you want to portray to your market?

Hottest meaning a figure of speach, IE coolest/new/ fresh decals. working on a new main banner for a value prop included, it looks so boring up the, Do you agree?

    4. ".. on the East Coast, Nationwide" Does this mean you are from the East Coast, serving Nationwide? Or serving East Coast, and nationwide? Somewhat confusing .. possibly oxymoronic?

East coast serving nationwide, again somerthnig im going to change sales copy wise as well as the graphics

    5. Secured by Geotrust is good. May want to continue on and add Better Business Bureau, Hackershield, etc in a nice little logo package. Also, top left is *prime* web real estate .. may want to consider moving it top right?

I have a hacker safe rep however $1k isnt in my budget and after this friday Hackersafe/McAfee secure will be $1795 for base traffic numbers

    6. The two cars in the header image don't actually have any stickers on them ... I'm thinking you want to advertise your product there. Perhaps reduce to one car also, otherwise there's redundancy = cognitive overload.

This was a joke ive discussed with many people my images do not showcase graphics only headlight tint... wasted graphical interpertation.

    7. "US Dollar" - any menu with only one option is unnecessary.

this will be removed, in the works

    8. The "continue shopping" and "checkout" buttons have a magnifying glass icon next to them. Does this make sense? Perhaps change to an arrow >> to indicate "moving forward".

This was my question further down.. Arrow or???? Also what about the color? green for go?

    9. Search box, already mentioned. I typed some things in the box, then didn't know how to submit the query!

    Good point!

    10. Images definitely need to be large and clear to the customer. I also assume you're still working on unique product descriptions for each one, and the ability to choose color and size (since it says "Pick a color and a size for your body graphics today!")

Yes this is being worked on daily, the attribute percentages were of for ahwhile thats why nothing was added until they were fixed

Yes like mentioned above there were problems that had to be fixed. thanks for the suggestions!

This was discussed in few case studies, putting the credit cards at the top only instill HEY your not getting anything for free on this site, not so much customer confidence and security.

My main questions are on the buttons, color? icon? make it an arrow????

if you look at a product page, what would you change if it was a landing page?

Real car pictures are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

I have been using real car pictures on my site and the difference is incredible. People like to see that others are really using these graphics and they like to know that they are good quality (good pics). That would be my biggest priority. Also, listen to everything psynapse said.

Ok so i have made a bunch of changes recently, killed the white sides, Filled them in with the same CF fill the site uses albeit a bit smaller. Changed the checkout process to 2 steps from 5 so its a one page check out now. the checkout and add to cart buttons are green (some still need to be changed) product pages are being shifted around, so this is ongoing.

Kenric, if you read this, let me know what you think of the one page, this is the final on what we discussed in PM's awhile back.

i also just picked up don't make me thing and will be moving the search box a little and adding a button to search as well.

Products wont be finished until i finish the site, advertising wont be started either.

My journalism dabbling in college is where I am coming from here.
In your Return Policy Section, you have a few grammatical errors. You want to look professional, so here is what you should fix.

"You can request a refund within 72 hours of receving your product is the item has been damaged or it is the wrong item. All custom orders or lettering are 100% non-returnable. Once these are manufactured they can not be refunded. Please ensure proper spelling and any other identifications before hand"

The first sentence should read... "You can request a refund within 72 hours of receiving your product if the item has been damaged, or is the wrong item."
Also, throw in a period at the end of this first paragraph.

"If a package is returned to due to refusal of shipment or undeliverable address. You will be notified when we receive it back. For reshipment of this package you will be required to submit a payment for any applicable new shipping charges."

My suggestion as to how it should read... "If package is returned due to refusal of shipment or an undeliverable address, you will be notified when we receive it. For reshipment of this package you will be required to submit a payment for any applicable new shipping charges."

I italicized all of the changes I suggested so you can spot them easily. Good luck!

The one page checkout looks decent. However, the page looks confusing to me even though I knew what I was looking for.

I would tone down the returning customers and create an account choices. Make them smaller and less prominent.

My developer and I came up with a new one page checkout that alot of people like. This one page checkout has no create account options. But when people checkout they are emailed a password and their login is their email so the had an account created automatically. Now everyone has account, they just didn't know it when they checked out. This helps alot because they can track their orders and reorder by logging in later.

Nobody has mentioned yet (As far as I can see).. the page title is "New Home Page Title".

Also the Categories and information box don't seem to be in the right place. Is the orange title box (with Categories in it) meant to sit above the black line? It also isn't centered in it's column on the left.

Who are you trying to target? Its obvious once you get to the page that you are selling car decals and protection films. What about the search engines though... do they know?

    <head>
    <title>New Home Page Title</title>
    <meta name="Description" content="new description" />
    <meta name="Keywords" content="new keywords1,keywords2" />

you should go in and update your meta tags and title page.

    The site looks great!
