Thread: The Numbers!

    Default The Numbers!

So I've been writing my business plan and managed to stall out on the numbers. I am having trouble finding an accurate method to quantify my expenses. The company I am looking to start is helping medical offices go paperless, however I am having hard time getting an accurate measure of software development costs, how much each man hour should be worth, etc etc.

Any help on this? Would my best bet be finding another similar business that is perhaps out of state and trying to speak with them?

I think it's not easy to estimate the cost before you know what you need and what you are trying to accomplish.

Just like building the house. You need to know how big the house is, how many rooms it will have, what materials to use.

You should list out the things you can offer and the stuff you need to accomplish that. Then start search on the job board to find the average salary or hourly rate for each tasks.

I've decided to use my competitive advantage(as a student at UT) and send email out to medical offices. I sent 3 email's out to offices in the austin area to see if they would answer some questions to me. I figure since many of these doctors went to UT they'd love to help a UT stuednt. I also am getting a quote for the software I need designed early next week and contacted a remote data storage company to get a quote from then.

If I remember right, you were the one post a thread about the scanning service for medical clinic. Right?

Just thought about the HIPPA compliance. Make sure you understand that too.
