Default Sugestive Selling - How to set up Information Architecture?

Ok, although i am still tring to get the site up. I am looking already at the site and what it could need.

On suggestive selling, Does anyone have any experience in setting up the information architecture within a site that allows and internal search or code pull things related to a product and serve it in the cart? As I did some google searching which wasnt yeilding very good results I did pop by information tagging.

So, should I look into product tags to serve relevant products? Isn't this how youtube serves relevant videos when you are watching something?

It's called a recommendation engine, and they are usually based on behaviorial patters.

If you're looking for an Amazon-like system (more relevant to you than YouTube, i would guess) here is a idea:

Jon, thank you for linking that (odd TFLTM.com is now on their site, i guess they serve the incoming links... pretty cool) I am going to research recommendation engines tonight and report back.

    Two things quickly noted -

#1 I thought Strands was a pay for service... but i just downloaded the OSC API.... so i guess its free? It does seem to go where i want it in the shopping cart section though.

#2 I wonder how possible it would be to serve up ads on image based systems like facebook and myspace, and incorporate a system like this that serves relevant products to a page rather than bidding or searching the keyword. It would almost be dynamic.... Does that make sense?
