Default Book: The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea

    Hi All:

I like to recommend the book "[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Go-Giver-Little-Story-Powerful-Business/dp/159184200X/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top"]The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea[/ame]". I was attracted by the very high rating for this book at Amazon and I was not disappointed after reading this book.

Here is the cliff notes version of the book. Essentially it is a parable centered around the following five principles:

    1. The law of compensation:
Your Income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

    2. The law of value:
Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

    3. The law of influence:
Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.

    4. Law of authenticity:
The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

    5. The law of receptivity:
The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

Also the 113 reviewers at Amazon awarded this book a 4.8 point score, which is generally very rare.

If anyone else read this book, please share your thoughts.

Its on audible. The authors take turn reading. John also helped write The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen. John does a lot of ghost writing.

    Thanks for the review.

Do the authors provide tips or techniques to apply for each law?

Yes and No. It is not a handbook, not a step-by-step guide. It is more towards showing us the right philosophy and mindset for achieving our dreams.

It is a parable, similar to RDPD in some sense. However I think the message is much more richer and more universal.

Personally, this book helped me to think and re-evaluate some of my decisions.

This book looks great! It sounds just like the more defined mindset I have right now. Not to mention, it has a clever title.
