    Default Mindset of a millionaire: BE DO HAVE

    Many of you set goals and write down as you've been taught in goal setting books

    HAVE:
    I want a new car...
    I want a great spouse ...
    I want a great house ...
    I want a great vacation...
    I want a great body...
    :::

    DO:
    So I (Painfully implied) will cold call tell times a week.
    So I will (grudingly) will talk to 10 realtors
    So i will (sheepishly) ask 10 investors for money in a week.
    So I will (regretfully) not eat so much french fries, ice cream, chocolate
    So I will (hatefully) lift weights 3 times a day.

    BE:
    Happy.
    or Be a millionaire.
    or Be a chick magnet.

    This is the mindset of a the average American. They are climbing uphill trying to be successful.
    =====

    This is the mindset of a FAST TRACKER. Once I got this, I mean really got this in my heart and soul it was easy. Money was flying at me. I didn't have to advertise. My business for over a decade is all word of mouth. What is that mindset?

    It's not HAVE,DO,BE its BE,DO,HAVE.

    It's focus on the BEING, not the HAVING. Then you will DO the things with much better results. And you will HAVE lots of stuff. Warning the HAVE will be different then what you initially thought. I fast tracker spends little time on the have.

    ===
    For example, lets take real estate investing. A new investor wants to do preforeclosure. He/She..
    Focuses on all the things he wants to HAVE.
    So he will grudingly Do the door knocking and cold calling.

    But a new investor (cough cough, 2nd year in RE investing) somehow got into courses like Great Life Foundation (in Salt Lake City) and discovered all his energy should be spent on the BEING and Does things with a different energy.

    BEING:
    1) Focuses all my energy on who I want to "BE".
    I spent countless hundreds of hours on this in my early years of real estate investing.
    i.e. What do I not like about myself...shy, selfish, guarded
    What traits do I admire in others. Self assured, caring, etc...

    I want to be LOVING or ABUNDANT or GIVING or CARING or EMPOWERING.
    Yes, Les Gee is a Loving EMPOWERING POWERFUL MAN and he is it right now.
    Not later, but NOW!

    I developed a vision statement, mission statement, and purpose statement.

    Like a successful company you have to have a business plan. A mission statement.
    Why do you want to do what you do? What for? What MUST you life stand for?

    2) So Les "DO"es the things that are EMPOWERING, LOVING, ABUNDANT.

    I go door knocking to assist the homeowner from losing their home.
    What if there were 10 competitors knocking before me? I'm the only one coming from a place of helping THEM, not me. They are focused on their new car, I am focused on being LOVING. There is no competition. People (homeonwers) are NOT STUPID. There is something different about this cat standing in front of me. Why is he caring so much? What is it about him? Okay, lets hear him out.

    3) Little energy is spent my "HAVing". "Being" is the success, but funny thing is the community gives me evidence with "MONEY". As you become more success, I spend less time and energy on what to HAVE. My have is powerful have. A community (friends) around me that are powerful and making a difference in this world.
    Assisting others in ways they never dreamed.

    I've been oftened asked, when is enough enough? When do you stop working?
    Les thinks, " I don't work? That sounds like a chore?"
    Les responds, " I stop when I feel like not helping anyone."

    ====
    There are no accidents in this world. You get what you deserve. You get what the universe gives you.
    ====

    Heres another example of BE DO HAVE.

    So much time and energy is spent by Americans on losing weight and think HAVE DO BE

    I want to have a knock out body, so I will able to attract the girls/boys. Little time is spent on the BEing.

    Instead, my personal mission statement focuses on the BEING
    I want to BE there for my unborn grandkids. I want to share with them the ABUNDANCE that I've learned. I want to EMPOWER my kids and spouse and others to their own greatness.

    So i DO things with a different energy.
    I found Basketball. Being playing 2 times a week and working out a 3rd at my young age. I love the insights it brings. Why is John playing small? i.e. he is such a good shooter but doesn't shot enough for fear of failure. Why is James being so selfish? Taking 80% of the shots.

    Hmm, young guy in his 20's is guarding me. What do I do? Oh, he's got sprinter legs. Lets tire him out. The joy of hearing him curse and easy layup miss on the offensive side, after running around on defense trying to guard me.

    Another selfish guy is guarding me. Doesn't want to me to score and hence is face guarding me. Meaning not looking at the ball. Okay, I'll draw him to the 3 point line and let my team play 4 on 4. I know that it is easier for my team to win playing 1 on 1 vs 2 on 2. And 2 on 2 is easier than 3 on 3. And so on. I let this selfish player that is a soloist shut me out on offense. Or maybe I'll ask my teammate to set a pick on him or have my point guard throw it over his head as I go to the low block.

    Reading health books, "The China Study" .... really all you have to do is keep animal protein down to 5% of your diet, eat fruits, veggies, whole grains, and nuts and diseases of affluence go away? Fascinating.

    The results of the HAVE are ...
    I'm under 150 pounds. I'm a sought after basketball coach.
    I love the kids that I teach. I will probably live longer then I would have.
    I have more friends from basketball. I've learned how basketball or anything you do is a reflection of your beliefs.

    ===
    Good luck on your journey as you focus on the BEing. You will not be disappointed.

    The irony is that if you are successful financially, what you think you wanted you actually did not want at all. Material possessions will hopefully have less and less pull on you.

    Yea this is what Deepak Chopra reads... Typically all the business books never teach me anything useful to business. However stuff like Deepak, and other spiritual writers, doctors etc. help me learn alot.

    Whatever works for you. People are different, have different life experiences, learn different, relate to things differently. That's why there are sooo many books on the same topic and will continue to be. If one doesn't work for you, another may. The more you become open minded and put some effort into thinking and comprehending, the faster you will start seeing the values in those books.

    I use to get upset and say, "these books are stupid, they just spewing common sense", but lately, I have to come to respect such books, common sense is not so common. Hindsight is 20/20, and after reading those common sense type of business books, you get the hindsight and feel like you already knew it. The thing is that one can compress years of experience in a one line of sentence, and if you are not paying attention it will fly right past your ears.

    A lot of people want detailed guide. The newbies. I don't want any more detailed guide anymore, I want those general years of experience. I don't want a chapter explaining what "Looks before you leap means", just tell me, "Look before you leap" If I put in the effort and understand the real meaning behind that phrase, it will mean so much. So, I urge you to really put some thinking behind those business books that didn't teach you anything, most likely you are the one who refused to learn.

    There are too types of reading, passive reading and active reading. You can't read books on business like novels. You gotta solve problems in your mind. It's like a maths book, if you got a book that solved tons of maths problem, it's going to be soooo easy to follow, but you will not learn much math. However, if you have a book that gives more problems than solutions and force you to spend time figuring it out, you will learn more. When starting out, the former is more favorable if you can find it, but if you don't, make do with the later. If you do find the former, don't neglect the later.
    Winning is not found in the prize, winning is found in the doing.

    Les - Can you expand on how someone can define their "BE"?

    You mentioned that you developed a vision statement, mission statement, and purpose statement - could you give an example of what should be included in each of these?

    Why is it important to have each of these? What's the difference between each of them?

    Thank you.

    Thank you.
    The problem with answering this is that it does not come from your intellect but your heart. At least this is what I experienced.
    In courses, like Great Life Foundation in Salt Lake City you experience your own answers. Nobody can tell you how to "BE". What is important to you? So I will not answer that question since my experience says you can't get it from me. My recommendation is to take their experiential training which I am not affliated with.

    A purpose statement to an individual is like a mission statement to a company. What do you want to do before you leave this world? Why are you here? A vision statement is your minds eye sharing with you what you are doing, feeling, being in the future. Again, this stuff I sharing with you in all intellectual stuff. From my experience it comes from the heart.

    I will say that in 1991, my 2nd mentor recommended a course called Excel (now closed) which does similar trainings.

    ====
    For you historians, Les believes this is how it went...

    EST started in about 1960s. EST is no more.

    From there it broke off into 2 groups.
    I) Lifesprings - The dessert of the EST training in my opinion. Lifespring went bankrupt long ago. However, small companies like Excel, Great Life Foundation, and other small companies continue to share some of its teachings. I think of it like playing experiential games and then figuring out and discovering how you show up in these games. AHA this is how you show up in real life. These companies will continue to struggle as they can not handle alot of students at one time.
    ===

    II) Landmark Training - The anal side of EST trainings. I have personally gone through 4 courses of Landmark. Landmark is one of the biggest companies teaching this stuff. My personal experience of this training is like listening to a great scholar about life. But you will get great insights on your life and how you are "Being". Landmark will continue to do well as it have have 200 students in one room. However, I believe the Lifesprings type courses will benefit the seeker more and then Landmark is a GREAT follow up type course. Both where instrumental in my journey.
    ==

    Summary: You can NOT learn what they teach from reading a book or me typing 100,000 pages. It must be discovered. If any of you readers go to any of these courses feel free to email me or share your own experience.
