    Default Investing in the US?

I'm a very active Realestate investor in Vancouver Canada and I'm currently looking to invest in the US. Any suggestions to where would be the best place to start looking? I have doing some research and had found that San Dieago, Scottsdale Arizona and Miami could be a good place to start.

I don't know what exactly the research you've done has entailed, but I would personally avoid all 3 of those spots like the plague. All signs point to there being no cashflow there even with the dramatic price drops, so I'm guessing you are planning to speculate on appreciation? (The old what goes down, must come up rule)

I'm looking for Single family homes for long term investment. I just think with our dollar being so strong and a weak market I think its a good time to buy. I understand its not a buy and flip market but I have been looking at the foreclosures as well as MLS listing and saw some great deals. I guess I better do more research! Any input?

I am looking at buying a vacation home in Florida... the values are definitely there, but I don't think they are cash flowing positively yet.

Stick to bread and butter for cash flow properties.

with the loonie is so strong, you can probably buy half of Maine with your annual income...

    Define long term.

I'd say a vacation home in the right area of FL would be a good buy that you could have fun with. Hard to lose with waterfront property...

My idea of long term is 10-15 years though.
