Progress Thread: Financial Bin and Entrepreneur Intervention

Hey Everybody,

I hope all is well. I wanted to give you a quick update on what's been going on at Financial Bin. I am proud to announce that we launched our first book in paperback last night. The book is called: Entrepreneur Intervention: Triumphs & Failures of Entrepreneurs.

I compiled the stories of 28 entrepreneurs and had them discuss the ups and downs of starting and growing their businesses. I was fortunate enough to have them submit fantastic chapters and I edited the entire document (all 66,000-plus words!). I self-published the book as well, using CreateSpace because of its On-Demand publishing features. They have been great to work with.

I also formed a Wyoming-based company -- BIN Network LLC (Financial Bin is the DBA name for it) and put the book out under that name.

I started this process in July and have been going nonstop until now. It's been such a rewarding experience and an amazing sense of accomplishment. I will also put it out for eReaders -- Kindle, iPad, Nook, and Sony Reader.

I've sold a few copies thus far. I actually sent a copy to MJ as well. Hope you enjoy!! I have been sending emails around to see if there is any interest and I am thrilled to report that 2 colleges are interested in using the book as class materials. Mike Michalowicz (The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur) and Barry Moltz (Your Business Unstuck) have also offered to promote it. The Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization has offered to use the book as a reward for their members, so I sent them a few copies as well. So, we'll see what comes of this!! It's very exciting and I'm really trying to learn how to market effectively!! Would love to hear your thoughts!

GREAT job on taking action, it sounds like you've really stepped up and are getting your book out there, out to colleges and organizations and such. It'd be amazing if one of the colleges used your book. =)

Thanks!! I'm working on it believe me!! I've sent out dozens of emails to organizations and colleges. I figured if I get just a few positive responses, that's a success. I focused on entrepreneurial organizations and colleges with entrepreneurship centers and/or majors/minors. Tried to go after colleges in my area and used Entrepreneur.com to figure out the Top 25 entrepreneur curriculums. I thought this was the best approach.

I would be thrilled if a college or 2 used the book. I sent it to two professors in my area and both are pretty excited about it. One was actually saying he could place an order of 20 to 25 in mid-December! (Fingers crossed!!)
