Default Just had my ah ha moment.

I'm the type of guy that MJ refers to as someone who has the Tekel Syndrome. I jump from one to the next to the next to the next. I follow trends, not set them. I see a thread on ecommerce, and I'm suddenly trying to open an ecommerce site. I see a trend on blogs and start a blog. I look into affiliate marketing, that lasts me all of a few weeks. Everything I start is not satisfying a need and all I am doing is chasing money, and it has lead me to nothing. I was buying low selling high on one item at a time, not working.

    Until now.

I just had a moment of clarity. The book that MJ wrote finally opened my mind. I know what I have to do now. I am an idea guy so for the last few weeks I decided to brainstorm and research. Guess what, I found a need that is not being met. It's just waiting to be exploited. Guess what else, it's a fastlane business. I am going to build a brand around this. I want to make a bold prediction. I predict that I am going to stick to this one idea. I am predicting that my brainstorming is going to change from looking for new ideas to improving this one. I am predicting that I will be successful beyond anything I can imagine.

    Step one, build my homepage.

Thanks! I'm not quite ready to say which industry but I will reveal it once my site is up and running.

Took my first steps and I have the index page laid out. Now I need to give it some love lol. Step 2 will be finishing it. I plan on finishing it in the next day or two. It feels good to be focused on something for once, and to actually believe in it too.

Great! There will likely be roadbumps and road"blocks" - go in, around or over them. Keep going.

Alright so I finished a few aspects of my website but I realized the more complex stuff I will need to outsource because I do not know what I am doing and it would take me years to figure it out. While that is being outsourced I still have a ton of work to do. I have to write up the terms and conditions which I have no idea how to go about. Build a landing page explaining what the site is, saying it's under construction but still putting it out there and maybe taking email addresses and sending out a mass email once the site is ready. I was to put up my social networks for this company. Start marketing now so when it launches it will already have a little buzz.

Ok so this morning I finally made arrangements to outsource the more complex portions of the website. Now it's real because I had to go further into debt to finance this venture of mine. I'm already in debt so this was not an easy decision for me. But I decided it was time for a change and I did it!

I should get the final product from them at the end of December. In the meantime I have to hack out the terms and conditions, contact us page, about us page, twitter, Facebook, Google +.

    Wish me luck guys!

The website is coming along pretty good. The company I hired to help me is moving super fast and I am very excited. I am a bit concerned with a few things though, pricing will be key, of course a free trial but I need to figure out for how long. I need to figure out a privacy agreement.

For now, my next task is to write the about us page. I'll focus on one task at a time instead of the whole picture. I really think this will change my life, looking forward to it. If it was not for this place, I probably would of never acted on this idea. Thank you everyone.

Best of luck to you Robre. We idea guys get bored quickly so make sure you stay on task and report back here frequently with issues you might have and for encouragement.

Have you surveyed a few potential customers, have you asked a few larger ones if that is something they would need/want and did you get any pre-orders?

    But otherwise, go at it!

Check out the book "Anything You Want" by Derek Silvers, who set up the CDBaby website and sold it for a pile o money. He has good "keeping it real" advice. He didn't bother to put a terms and conditions statement or
privacy policy on his website. It seems like you are getting hung up in the details by overcomplicating things.
I would suggest you either consider leaving them out (you would have to determine if this is appropriate
considering your site) or reverse-engineer one by looking at someone else's statement and revising it for your needs.

    LOL!

We're on the same page, at one point (i.e. too many ideas, can't focus, etc.). I'm glad you found your niche- I'm still looking (and still a bit all over the place).

    All the best to you!

Things are moving along. I did more market research and I can't even fathom the scale that this website can affect. If I execute poorly I'll still make a pile of money. The market I am after has 4.8 million people in it. If I service 0.1% of the market my monthly totals will be $147,000. If I service just 0.01% is $14,700 a month. Right now I make $2000 a month working full time. No matter what, I will make this work.

Anyway, I am anticipating a website launch in the next 2-3 months. I found a terms and conditions from a site doing the EXACT same thing as me and is VERY successful, but for a completely different industry.

Looking forward to the process. I have never felt this much in control of my own destiny. Thank you MJ, for putting me on the right path.

And that is the process, the challenge that most won't finish. Sometimes that growth curve doesn't start for months, sometimes years. Most people are out before then, looking for the next best thing.

Good luck and congrats on taking the action. Put it out there and let the market give you clues.

make sure whatever path your on has a future. Some businesses that are making a ton of money today are going to have trouble in two years so it would not make sense for you to put effort into that industry. This is the most difficult part of being an entrepreneur.

"right place at the right time" whether that is by luck or planning its true and important. We all know we need to be persistent and dedicated to one thing and after time the hard work will pay off IF and thats a big IF whatever your plan is, made sense to start with. Like MJ said put it out there get reactions, and if it seems it could work, go hard as you can before the market is saturated.

Robre, the very best of luck to you. I am very much in the same boat, sans the Ah-ha moment. I have been racking my brain overtime and have some ideas. For some reason however, I feel like I am closer to my ah-ha moment. I look forward to sharing it when I do. But as of right now, I have not taken any action. This book is a life changer for me, and I am thankful that I found it. I am full of excuses right now but I am almost ready to begin failing and learning...and getting out of the parked position and into the fastlane. Get Rich Quick absolutely exists, as long as you believe it!

New to the forum and the book, but love your enthusiasm. I am very happy to have stumbled upon this book. I had already grown weary of the Secret, Two Dad's and all that other . . . well material a while ago. I am still a big Napoleon Hill fan, but reached a point where I desperately needed new information and a new perspective. I feel that I have finally found massive amounts of it in MJs book. I am already seeing things change for the better. I have been at it for two years (essentially sleeping on couches and in my shop, showering at the gym and making LOTS of mistakes) and I am finally starting to get some traction. Funny the only thing that has been holding me back is me. I am finally getting past myself and seeing things a bit differently.

    Good luck Robre!

Listening to the market is exactly what I plan on doing. I am going to have a suggestions box on my site.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I am taking it all in.

Very exciting times, I am about 1.5 months ahead of schedule and I will be launching my website by the new year. I can't wait to launch. In the meantime I must think of a marketing post I can put on websites like CL and Kijiji. I am proving a service much like Elance however it's for a different industry. I am connecting people together. Once people start using my site I will have to develop another marketing platform but for now, I am going grassroots. I am debating if I should do it myself, post the same add on every CL page in the US (cities) or if I should hire someone to do that while I focus on other things. We will see I guess. Depends on how fast this thing takes off.

Wow, I really can't wait to go through this process. If I would of never read the book, I don't think I would of taken action, I would of been an idea guy for life. I get it now, I really do, Idea without process = shit.
