Default Calgary's Low Investment Start-Up (Progress Thread)

Have been thinking of starting this type of niche business for almost a year now.
Had to plan it for around 6 months and now the market conditions look a bit more ripe to start up. The progress doesn't start from today but I am starting this thread to keep me motivated

    Today's Log:
    Purchased a web hosting service.
3 months for $29.99. Spent 5 seconds and found a coupon code for 10% off.
A very close friend of mine was very interested in the business and will now work at developing a website for me for free. This business may not be exactly a "fastlane" business but it certainly affects in terms of magnitude.
    Services start at $1000.
Total cost of startup will be at least 1 mil. Now let's see if I can generate enough deposits through clients in order for me to start up. Total out of pocket money will be under $5000 out of me.
Already have a customer interested in depositing $50,000.

A well designed temporary website is up and running.

Planning on launching the business in April of 2012. Could launch sooner if there are more interest.

Interested as well if you don't mind sharing.

I can only think of buying stuff like say trucks or something, but then why would the customers deposit cash...

Are they getting their cash back at one point? Or are they getting some kind of service in return?

    Confusing

Can't reveal that yet as this idea has been tossed around by many people in this city but none had the dedication (Process) to actually develop on the idea.
I will reveal it once everything is set up and running.

As I've stated, it is a NICHE business. I will be providing services but not to businesses, to clients. The deposit is for a spot in the services. I will be providing memberships and will be limited to 20-30 at this time. A deposit guarantees their place in the service. Hint:The business is to provide services for customers who enjoy the finer things in life but can't justify purchasing the product. (Timeshare).

I've tried looking for investors and believe me, it is VERY hard. Especially when banks and investors do not share the same vision as you. I've finished surveying the market and there is a substantial demand for this business yet no one has jumped the gun to start it. I guess they lack the "Process" to develop the idea into an actual business. However, the risk is minimal due to special circumstances;my business partner owns an establishment which we will be basing the business out of (7500 Sq Ft+).

Haven't found any serious investors but lots are interested. So what I've done to find the capital is by generating it through my potential clients. If I have at least 24 people interested in purchasing the service, I will have enough capital generated. Why look for investors when you KNOW there are people willing to pay for service?
This way, I can start generating a customer base NOW rather than after launching the business.

That is part of the business, not the main revenue streams.
This business will have around 7 different revenue streams. You mentioned 2.

Thought so. Cars & Calgary I figured you were 'novus' incognito.

    Good luck with your project.
