    Default Weighttrainingweekly.com Progress thread

    http://www.weighttrainingweekly.com

The basic idea is a Weekly Email Newsletter that sends tips and best articles from around the web. Website powered by WordPress is ready, 2 posts already there. I will post an new post there every week in addition to Newsletter.

First newsletter comes out on the 10th of September. Giving myself time to prepare content and start slowly promoting it online.

The idea is very simple, site is very simple and didn't cost much to produce, using free email newsletter service at MailChimp.com just to start things fast. The main expense will be creating content and marketing online on forums, twitter etc..

    Stay tuned!

Load time is long? That's a bummer! Tried to come up with a very simple design that is minimalistic.. shite..

I will work on redesigning it and try to make it even simpler, just focusing on the email subscription form and test how it converts. Need to build up a list to 10 000 people and then could try hitting angel investors with an offer. Never started a business with intent to sell, but this could be first..

Thnx guys, this one will be tough. I'm having doubts but if it doesn't work I will pivot it into something different to find a way to provide a lot of value and create a good business.

Took me 6 seconds to load it.

I would try to add a theme or pleasing color scheme to the site, just the writing and the article images is a little too barebones for me.
I keep waiting for the background colors to load eventually.

Hope this helps a bit, and good luck!

Haha, absolutely, you are helpful! I will add some colors Wonder why it took that long to load.. hmm..

Seriously rethinking the site concept, not sure if people need a newsletter like that, gonna do more search on it. Was really excited about the idea, but need to make sure. Future is mobile and combining mobile with email newsletter business model would be awesome.

Yup, I think two could go together.. But I don't know any coding and I dont want to know it really because I tried (PHP, twice...) and it was boring. So I will start off with the version that can be fastest delivered to the user and see how people like the idea. If it works well, then expanding is always in my mind

Good luck. I'm not sure the business model is enough to attract investors tho since it's basically just a newsletter.

Heard of DailyCandy.com, Thrillist.com or VitalJuice.com? First one was sold for 125... million dollars... WOOT! Now I dont realistically expect that to happen again, but it could be a winner for me. If I can build this up subscriber base of tens of thousands, then there are options to sell, raise some capital to expand or just monetize thru CPA or CPM offers Business model doesn't look sexy but is kinda proven..

There's definitely a market there so talk to me about how you plan to monetize it and make it fastlane.
I hope my post or replies are helpful. Thanks in advance for Thanks and + Speed Reps!

I read this a while back but it may help you get some ideas: How to Build a Six-Figure Blog Without Anyone Knowing

Besides that, when I go to your site, I don't see any blog posts. I just see the "about WTW" and "5 reasons to sign up". Did you change something?

    EDIT:

Also thought I would add that Thrillist and DailyCandy did interviews on Mixergy.

CPA or CPM offers, sponsorships.. If you want to know more do a research on Email Newsletters, I mentioned couple of the successful ones.. Brootal just gave a good article link too

Wow man, I'm a reader of that blog but missed this one, didn't connect the dots here Thank You!

I have seen Thrillist interview and it's been inspiring to me a lot. Shame its behind the paywall now on Mixergy.

And yeah, I installed new theme that I can customize and want to make it a squeeze page, create a good logo. Blog will be available too.

Need to find tons of content now. Still thinking maybe I should try to get a personal trainer to join it and give a cut.

What are you doing that is unique and valuable?

    How are you getting traffic?

What makes someone go to your blog versus any other weight lifting site?
