    Not exactly fastlane news, but very big news for vets.

    Basically it will give a form of BAH plus a increase of 500/mo for the basic coverage. This would actually make college affordable for a veteran. Current rates of 1k/mo don't even come close to covering tuition anymore, especially with the increase in education costs in the last 8 years.

    Being a Vet myself I think that this is a good move. I am back in school and this will help me a lot. It's sad that us Vets who have been to Iraq are not getting what we need to get back into society.

    I couldn't agree more. The MGIB has not kept pace with the rapidly rising education costs. Many Vets simply cannot afford to go back to school. This bill should pass the house and senate, but unfortunately it still may get vetoed. We'll kinda have to wait and see.

    The bill passed congress. It set for signing on July 4th.
