Thanks for giving it a shot and reporting back. Roulette is what usually burned me. There's still 2 weeks left if you change your mind, but I know you're busy with your new business.

That's a pretty nice car. It seems to be working as a good motivator.

    Hi guys,

Just quickly checking in. I have a ton of updating to put on the forum...I've been very busy since the 2nd, which was my last update. My ebook is on schedule for Jul 1st launch. I redid the web site using ASP.NET for several reasons. Working now on design. It's going to be really nice.

Sorry for not making the daily updates but I've already been working 8-10 hours a day and exceeded the goal anyway (I'm at $3,600 - having sold two web sites). Last one was this one, on Flippa. I can't show you the other one, since it was to a private buyer.

I haven't decided what exactly I'm going to do with the eBook. I may use it as a list builder or I might sell it outright. In any case, I'll offer members of this forum a coupon for a free copy when it's all done.

    --Jack

Since the ecommerce store is part of my plan, and this is not, I chose the ecommerce.

To be honest, had I converted some sales early on, I probably would have continued, but since I had not, it is best to cut my time loss now.

My biggest regret is I know I need to work on landing page conversion which was my goal through this, but I will practice on my store rather than on something that I am not passionate about.

My apologies to all for being a quitter, and good luck to the rest.

    Kurtyordy,

Thanks for giving the challenge a shot. We all understand that priorities change. If nothing else, it looks as though you were able to learn some things that will help you in the future.

Good luck with your ecom. store and thanks again for participating in the challenge.

I like the idea of this challenge, to put people to the test. Too bad many have dropped out, but I have my fingers crossed for the rest. Keep fighting guys, gets nOObs like me motivated:-)

Know this is a little late, but thought of a method to start getting some capital with no money down. Donīt know if it works, havenīt tried it:

Be a middleman, a broker of services. Years back I earned a couple hundred bucks buying sunglassses in China and selling them here in Denmark. Problem was that you have to wait 3 weeks before the sunglasses arrive. Instead of beeing the middleman selling sunglasses, you sell a service. Go to Craigslist or something and find someone in need of say a web designer, then bid in on the job, and if you get it you buy that service on Elance.

Thats the rough idea, maybe someone can use it and earn the last couple of bucks the last week of the challenge:-)

I have come to the realization that my current level of effort, including during this Challenge, isn't sufficient to get me where I want to go. You know the saying, "Keep doing what you've been doing, and you'll keep getting what you're getting." I'm tired of that.

So, for the next month or so, I'm going to try an experiment. I'll write out the details in another thread.

What do you feel caused your idea to stall and what do you plan to do differently?

    Hi All,

I apologize for the long silence. I think I mentioned on this forum that my wife and I own a car rental business in New Jersey. A few days after this challenge started something that I had been working on for over a year took place, which basically took priority over this.

I had been working with someone who wanted to become a partner in our business. We have finalized his offer to sell a majority stake in the business. I guess I could take $2000 from that and apply towards the challenge. But that would be cheating! So I will not be completing this. However, I will be reading the updates when I receive them in my inbox. I wish everyone lots of luck. It's the effort that counts, no matter how small it moves one forward!

wait.. you could start now and make $2k+ sooner, but you rather wait and do it with the group next time one happens?

hmm.... for some reason I'd rather take my money now.

Hey guys, first let me apologize. I was unexpectedly busy this week so the updates were a little behind. That said, I've updated the record thread and will work more on the final results tonight and tomorrow. Please try to get me your final results by tonight.

I really appreciate all the hard work you guys have done. It should be interesting to see who ends up winning.

So what's the news on the final results, or are we still waiting on every contestant to update their final progress?

No joke -- Who should I send my address to for the mailing of the prize book?

I think we all learned a lot from this -- MOST people didn't even finish!!! If this is a microcosm of your competition in the marketplace, then how hard is it to succeed if you really commit to it?

I think the guys that finished, and finished on time should be recognized and/or rewarded.

Trent - Sparlin seems to have disappeared? Saw some challengers whose posts is like up to Week #2 or Week #3 at the most.

However, I'm certain I've finished mine!

    Good Game,

A summary would be good, As well, as some edits possibly a summary of why it worked or didn't work for those involved.

That would be a good addition for a long term value of the thread.

    Good stuff guys. awesome job

Guys, I want to apologize for my sudden disappearance from the forum. In the last month, I've had 3 family emergencies 2 involving hospitals and I was also sick for about a week and a half of that. Fortunately, things seem to be getting back on track now, but the usual routine was disrupted.

I did log on a few times but one time I was so tired I started to fall asleep. In any case, I'll try to get back up to speed with the forum. Again, my apologies.
