I just got back from a conference in Vegas where I overwhelmed by the industry and my lack of knowledge. Coming back I'm hungry for more and to continue networking and building my brand. Even though not everything that I learned applied to me directly, I still think that I took a lot away from the event.

Do you find yourself trying new things whether it's taking on a project or seeking out new monetization methods?

I'm naturally someone who does not like to venture outside of my comfort zone, which is somewhere between a computer, heavy gambling, speeding, and crushing people in ice hockey games (or getting crushed usually haha). But trying new things can be hard. The best thing that I ever learned - Don't wait. Just dive head first into and do it. Waiting = fear. In other-words, if you want to try something, whether it's picking up the phone and cold calling someone, or dropping acid, then don't be a little bitch. Just do it. And do it better than everyone around you.

I'm moving from a twenty year career in the IT field to a sales job to get out of my comfort zone. I plan on doing this for six months or so to gain some much needed knowledge, and hopefully make some contacts.

Moving into sales for any period of time is the best move anyone can make for their career IMO. Teaches you how to hustle! I did a stint selling auto insurance and hated every second of it, but damn am I good at cold calling.

When it really really boils down to the basics, the difference between an employee and a successful entrepreneur. One progressively steps out of their comfort zone, the other gets comfortable.

yeah... I just started. 6 days a week, cold calling in person. First time was really uncomfortable (originally I come from ONLINE world). After three days is getting much easier and fun. It gives me kind of adrenaline rush I think, and I'm starting to enjoy it... Talking to and watching people behavior is really awesome.

Leaving your comfort zone means getting to new heights you've never been before.

It's hard to reach goals but the only way to it is sweating your a$$ out for it.

By sweating, I didn't mean the literal expelling of sweat! :)

It's about you coming to new boundaries and testing the waters in order to have a better lifestyle.

This can also be said for "successful" or well paid employees. If you're afraid to move, or grab opportunities when they present themselves, the odds of you getting to 6(or more) figures are slim to none.

I have a problem with this. I don't know what to do about it. I neither want to live in a comfort zone but don't know how to get out of it.
