Default Keep Focused - technique and free tool inside

Here lately i found out about a interesting "time managment" technique that helps be to keep focused throughout the day. So i want to share it with you and hope it can help you as well!

The technique is called the Pomodoro Technique.
What you basicly do is you use a timer to break down periods of work into 25-minute intervals. After Each interval there is a 3-5 minute break and after 4-5 25 minute cycles a 15-30 minute break can be taken.
It`s important that you focus 100% on your work within the 25 minute period... no distractions... also you will get a sense of achievement after every pomodoro which makes it easier to keep focused throughout the day.
For more information take a look at wikipedia:
Pomodoro Technique - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I use this free timer for the Pomodoro Technique:
Keep Focused - an enhanced tool for Time Management using Pomodoro Technique
It works perfectly fine for me till all my work is at the laptop but there are likly also apps for smartphones and what so ever... all you need is a timer that reminds you after 25 minutes so you could even use a kitchen timer
I never tried another tool but there is another page on wikipedia that refers to more tools so you might want to check it out:
Pomodoro technique software - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So i hope this will help some of you! Atleast for me it does the job.

Found it and loved it for about 1 day.

But then I realized I'm starting to adjust to that, and to slack off too much just to make the 25min pass. And 5min breaks are silly and useless.

What I do now is work per task, whether I like it or not, I do finish one single thing and then take a break, a nap, whatever, and then do another one etc. Not saying it's the way to go, just doing it like that.

I use it often and it really helps me to make progress, specially with tasks that I have to do but don't have enough motivation.

The app I use is focus booster.

I like what Docstoc CEO Jason Nazar taught in a seminar:

"There's always ONE most important task you need to do to make your business grow. ONE."

Jason has a very valueable Youtube account, check this video out:
