Default To realise my dream I need.....

    Being 100% honest with yourself.

Calculate what you need to earn your freedom to do what it is that makes you feel happy.

I love building and the satisfaction that you get when you finish a job on a construction site and you see something that you have been a part of creating. Whether it is a house or a big appartement block. There is always a sense of pride when you see the end result.

I have always wanted to design, build and sell beautiful, exotic houses. One after the other. The challenge being to always make the next one slightly more exclusive than the previous. To employ a group of skilled workers to build with me and also to be compagnons on my journey.

Although I am starting internet sites etc. My true path that I want to get to is spending my time actively building great houses!

To start my dream comfortably I will need to earn via one method or another $500,000.

So that is the real price of my freedom! That is my goal! The day I acheive that I will be one of the happiest men alive!

What is the pricetag on your freedom?

Not to be negative. or jack your thread.

I just cannot follow your line of thinking.. Once you make 500k or whatever then you will go and do your dream of building nice houses..

The once you make.. has me saying humm..

Seems to me you should be spending every second of your time, meeting people, putting together your team, getting financing to accomplish your dream..

Why are you wasting time on trying to make money on internet sites?

I agree in full with JackEdwards on this one. Why are you making internet sites when your true ambition is in exclusive residential homes?

    Your right!

I just want to find a quicker way to obtain an amount of money to start building as opposed to getting financing.

I can afford small loans to develop websites but to get a loan to start a big build is another matter entirely.

If I try my absolute hardest via my websites and I cannot make it with them, then, I will have to find another route.

I just am trying to do it alternatively!

Again, I just don't get it.. I turn down money offers everyday..

You know how much money there is in building homes.... Some of these guys make a fortune and would love to invest in your business or in the next house..

Now you might say but I don't have the experience yet? That is my exact point on why you should stop the internet deal and pick up a 2 by 4..

I am a builder, I spent 2 years doing an apprentership in France and then another 2 years getting an advanced qualification. I am in my 7th year and have never been out of work for one day.

Here is a photo of the job that I am at, at the moment. I have been working on these apparments since just after the foundations started back in January.

The trouble is, whilst I like my job. I would rather be earning more doing it for myself. i.e being the person building and selling the property not just the person building it.

I know, I know! I have got a van that I use to carry my tools around in. I was going to sell it to finance my website but I ended up getting a bank loan. Thank god! Its a great little run arround for my work.

This is exactly the type of small van I have. It is small but it has a towbar and is higly practicle.

I drew up plans before and tried to get investment from an Angel investor. The lead cost me $100. He listened to what I had to say and looked at my plans. He said he was interested but he never wanted to commit. I still contact him from time to time with the odd idea to see if I get a bite.

Clearly I should have pushed harder but I got distracted and put off, so I ended up following some lower cost ideas that are easier to finance myself.

    Thanks for the advice!

It is great that you have worked in the field and know your way around. That's great.. That is step one. the step most people skip.

Now you just need to change your thinking.

Was this angel investor local, and in the building of houses business?

No, he was not local. From the UK. He owns an events organising business. He said that he has a small portfolio of properties that he rents and doing something in France was something that appealed to him.

I assumed that he did not like my project enough for the following reasons a) did not have the money to invest in my project or b) considered my project too risky or c) did not like me or d) could not convince his partner or e) I had not proven my business by building and selling a house by myself before

On topic: For me I´d probably say 10.000 USD/month of steady income stream would be sufficient for me.

Do you mean by working a full time job or not working?

What would you do with your time to keep yourself happy?

Ideally I´d spend part of my time working on my business because I really enjoy that.. just not full time and with enough flexibility to be able to travel.

For example I really enjoy riding my motorcycle, hiking and sailing.
I´d love to make a couple of longer motorcycle trips (coast to coast in the US, all the way down south through the Americas, etc..) and I´d love to sail an ocean once.

Apart from that I enjoy making music, working out, yoga, reading etc.

And most importantly spending more time with my wife and daughter when not traveling of course.

Oh, really? Then I'm sure there's an easier in than doing Internet biz for money. Start selling houses. Start designing houses. You're already a builder, so you got that down. You're trying to get from point A to point B in a curve and not a straight line. If you're skilled at selling houses, then those angels are going to invest in you.

Just a quick clarification, I could probably do the above already if I would not be a ´provider´ as well.
Right now I´m working on my first business (I have a couple more lined up but want to focus 100% of my attention on this one first) which will hopefully create the additional flexibility I would need and (right now) would really be creating my dream job as I really love doing it.
Its all part of the journey

Exactly! Thats where allot of the fun is at imo (not that I know what the feeling of succeeding big time is like). But I think I can perhaps compare it to the feeling you get before you buy something you have been waiting a long time to get. The best moment is just before you make the purchase.

I hope you acheive your goals to get to where you want to be.

Another angle could be to become a seller --rainmaker-- for your current company.

Talk to your boss and find out how much commission would you get for bringing a new deal.

    Put it together.

    You make decent money.

And now you have the past performance of putting one deal together and people that know you can do that AND build it.

The company you work for will deliver.

After that should be easier to get the next deal.

Sounds to me like you love building houses and that passion is pushing you to work hard to be able to do what you love, build houses. So if you're able to get to the point where you can build houses as you please and don't need to do it for money, then any fastlane business that can get you there should work. I think this is a great example of the "Do what you love" section of the book. If your internet sites are doing well and provide value to the marketplace then go for it, once you hit your $ amount you can build all the houses you want. The market does not care that you love to build houses but if you think you can fill a need or provide value in the housing market then maybe you could pursue that instead but don't feel like you have to do housing because it is what you love. Just my .02.
I've always thought $10,000 a month would be enough for me to be free from a job and do what I want, but once I get there the number may change, we'll see.

Good reference to the Millionaire Fastlane Book you made there!

I need one lump sum of 400,000 euros or $500,000 to do what I love and have a comfortable ongoing income and reward motivation.

Seems like there are alot of people that see $10,000 per month as their freedom.
