I disagree with that article. You should pay your taxes but I don't think paying big taxes is good reason anyone should be trying to rich. There are other better ways to make an impact then to be trying to hand the most money to the government so they can mismanage it. Paying taxes to support lazy people on welfare is stupid. You should pay taxes to support the nation's infrastructures and our military, that's it. It's easy for Mark and Warrent buffet to say that now after they've made all their money. I bet you they weren't calling for the goverment to charge rich people more taxes when they were still building their wealth.

This is not a politics post, just my opinion on taxes.

    Agreed with 911carrera.
I think Mr. Cuban is just giving off popular rhetoric. Why trust a failing US government that bankrupted its nation with wars and crazy spending?

Pay taxes to other more responsible governments and run companies there.

911Carrera, I am in fact conservative and do believe everything you said is right. I didn't mean for this to become political... I learned a long time ago not to argue over politics. I just find Mark Cuban's tenacity and attitude towards life very motivating and love the mentality he has towards the huge amount of taxes he pays. Too many people bitch about what they cannot effectively control. As pro stated, it is possible to move your company to another country if you refuse to support our (screwed) government. However, very few wealthy people will do this.

"I’m not saying that the government’s use of tax money is the most efficient use of our hard-earned capital. It obviously is not. In a perfect world, there would be a better option. We don’t live in a perfect world." -Mark Cuban

I am sure he uses his fair share of tax reduction strategies and sheltering as well.

To compare the GOVERNMENT to a CHARITY is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, politicians are the most self centered people there are. You want to help people? Write off donations to real charities. Lets not forget that most tax revenue goes directly to the interest payment on our debt. So off to China with a large portion of it.

Most tax driven "poverty" programs actually keep the poor down. Parents teach their children how to milk the system their whole lives. That is not the American dream, that is a joke.

He talks about busting your ass to make an insane amount of money... Why on earth should I subsidize someone else's laziness?

I think this could easily descend into a political i.e closed thread, however taxes aside I personally took the overall message of that article simply as, being Rich and investing that wealth wisely is vastly more beneficial to society than being broke, people are usually not willing to or unable to significantly help their fellow man when they are struggling to simply survive themselves.

Get rich, minimize the hell out of your tax liability by hiring the best financial advisors and pay your taxes - like most rich people do.

don't see a problem with that message!
