Me too ... my first thought was "poor woman ... maybe some people can help her get her money back by creating a donation fund" ... then after reading, I was like -- ehh, she can revel in her greed for the rest of her life.

This is when stupidity is your cake, and your greed is the icing.

On a positive note, this gives evidence that there is always a market for any product if you create the right marketing message!! Buyers are everywhere, even for the most outlandish of hooks.

For good measure, they’ve warned Spears that if she sends any more money to Nigeria, they will charge her with a crime. She admits it may be the only real deterrent for her, as fixing this became somewhat of an obsession.
I can't believe that jail is the only real deterrent for her. You would think she would realize that nothing is going to come out of this by now.

    What I think is ironic
is that the Nigerian Scam methods
sound suspiciously like the advertisements for government run lotteries.
Maybe tomorrow will be your winning day.

All that differs is that someone actually does win
a portion of the lottery proceeds.

I don't know if that (hope) is better or worse.

I hate to be so callous but first thing I thought was "She should have known better." What kind of people have this much money and this little common sense? :-\ I feel bad for her, but I feel bad for feeling bad for her.

    Hey Bob!
I know where all the money has gone. The Nigerians are taking it!!

Haha, which leads me to something else...
All the online gambling that is not legal here in the US, Millions of dollars are going out of the country because of that!

Im shocked that after so many scams and the amount of people getting scammed, that there are still a large amount of people getting sucked into the scams. There are tv shows, interviewing people that got scammed and how they got sucked into it.

I'm in Michigan and there was a city manager (cant remember the city) but he lost the cities money. He used the cities account thinking he would get the money for the city.

It was about two years ago now but it was on all the local radio stations.

Even if you only get 1/1000 of 1%, its not that hard to send that many emails out. Odds are in their favor. They simply reach more people then their chances to get just one.

Play 300,000,000 lotto tickets and one will likely have the winning number. Except in this case, an email costs practically nothing to send.

I like how she came forward to warn others. I think she was the last to be told.
