April was a pretty shitty month and the site is still around 90% done. I’m starting to tweak everything to death when I realize I just to stop and get the thing live.
I ordered samples from a few more places as backups and to possibly offer some high end hand screen printed stuff in the future.
I also signed up for a few classes on http://www.skillshare.com/ to brush up on my design skills. The classes are killer so far.
I’m setting a launch date of May 24th
Site is 90% done at this point. I am finishing up the look/feel of the site and working on getting the payment processor hooked up. Stripe and possibly paypal look to be the way to go.
I also received print samples from my supplier and they looked great.
Next up is making the artwork. I plan on bootstrapping the artwork myself initially and then hiring it out or creating an affiliate model once profitable (ala threadless or society6).
Next steps:
I've decided to pivot my business a bit after Beer and Pancakes. I feel like I've been procrastinating the past few weeks and I think part of that was I wasn't truly set on my business model which wasn't truly fast lane.
I am now going “all in” and doing e-commerce artwork out of the gate. I will have more details next month but the profit/growth potential is much higher and I am adding a lot more value.
The core of what I have done so far is still usable and I have
Site is coming along slowly. Life, work, new girlfriend, etc are still in the way and I’m struggling to find a schedule to fit everything in. These blog posts are starting to sound like excuses rather than updates
Goal at this point it to have something online to show at Beer and Pancakes.
I have the user login workflow figured out, just need to implement it. That’s the plan for this weekend.
I also found a theme to use that I need to migrate in.
Not much to update this monthPretty much at the same spot as last month due to life and holidays getting in the way. Time to refocus and develop a game plan for the next few weeks.
Starting to look at outsourcing again to get over this last hurdle.
