Thanks....what are your thoughts about doing a niche by demographic, for instance single mom's needs and selling more of an assortment. Do you think a model like that is feasible for ecom?

Hi Kenric, I've read several of your ecommerce related posts and your blog as well... my question is this: its seems you always pay for software for your ecom sites. Is there a reason for getting more expensive software instead of using a well supported open-source like prestashop?

Thanks for responding. They were the stores you have listed in your sig. Ghillie Suit and Camo Nets. But after reading your blog archive pages (I read everything back to 2008) I presume you are using the shopping cart you mentioned in your blog post to create the sites.

I've really gone back and forth with the idea of using a standard HTML built sites for stores vs Wordpress sites. I have a good shopping cart for either route, I just think it's easier to rank a standard HTML built site in Google over a Wordpress site. While I can rank both sites, it seems that the standard HTML sites stick better and don't do the Google dance as much. Plus with a standard HTML site I have VB scripts I use within Excel to generate my product pages. This flexibility gives me the ability to update prices quickly or run specials on items in my store.

Hey Kenric,
I have my website close to completion and I know when I talked to you about advertising you said you had spent almost nothing. From everything I read it seems like PPC ads are the way to go. SHould this be my first step in testing market demand or should I just work on SEO? I've read two SEO books, and the information on how to get a site to number one is pretty vague. Thanks for your help.
