Been working hard this past month pulling things together in anticipation of a May Day Alpha2 Launch. Now that we're in the final days/hours before the launch, Murphy has decided to rear his head in our direction... Facebook quirks, SSL certificate issues, cloud hosting and caching bugs, etc... etc. Other than those and a few loose ends, our site is up and ready to run.
We've made quit a few changes that will simplify our idea viability tests, save some otherwise wasted development
We are back on track and have completed a lot of work this month. The first week was spent unwinding the side projects that were distracting us, and then gathering our thoughts for this one. The past three weeks were spent coding a replacement platform for a re-launch (Alpha2 Launch or Alpha Square Launch).
Although the new platform doesn't fill all of our requirements (yet), it meets enough that we're not letting that stop us or even slow us down. It's much faster than our last platform,
This is another month burned. Most of our time was spent unwinding a bunch of small projects and preparing several of them to be sold off. This is not as easy as we first anticipated. As for our startup for this competition, apparently we burned out on it sometime around the beginning of the year. We haven't given up, but we're also not kicking ourselves too hard about it. We had been told for years that if a project fails to launch within 4 months, just move on. The reason is now becoming clear
Well, the beginning of the new year has come and gone, and for our part, we have accomplished nothing more than winding ourselves up in a web of projects that now must be unwound. We started the year off excited. In the first week we threw together a quick web tool that would allow us to easily package and distribute our web apps in a self extracting installer file. We decided to commercialize it, so we purchased a domain name, threw together a website... and just as we were about to alpha launch,
We're 3 hours away from the new year, both of us buried neck deep in old and new code, hoping to complete one or more projects on time to be launched sometime in the first week of the new year.
While considering other platform options to rebuild istartr on, we hit a gold mine of code and information. We forked a dead project, are in negotiations to acquire another project, and to our hearts delight found in a third project our vision for cliqspaces and eventually the beta platform for
