Default Life Altering Decisions(inspired by MJ DeMarco)

I watched part of an interview MJ was featured in. The topic of the interview isn't important in this post, but one thing MJ said got me thinking. He was talking about how he took the plunge and moved to Pheonix, and how it was the best decision he ever made. It made me think about where I am right now and how I'm getting into a rut by being complacent. My current job puts a lot of limitations on my life. 3-4 nights a week I'm working, I also work every other weekend. Pay is not great, meaning I have to work extra hard. As a result of having to work extra hard just to get by, my social life and business evdevours are being neglected.

Thing is, I looked around at my life and asked myself, what decisions can I make that would change everything? JOB was a big one. And now I have an alternative and I'm making a choice to change. I'm convinced it'll pay dividends in the next few months.

Decisions don't have to be big to be effective. Instead of aiming for "radical change", you can shoot for "continuous improvement".

Continuous improvement requires tiny changes (i.e., tiny decisions) every day. They are so tiny that you could never fail. The advantage is that this way change is not overwhelming, and gets incorporated into your life permanently!

It's the classic event vs process.

As Maria said, it's all about the tiny things that you do day to day.

3-4 nights is not a lot anyway? Just develop your business in your spare time. Focusing only on your business is too much for most people. It's extremely hard to stay focused when you have 24 hours, makes it really easy to procrastinate...

Unless you are really good at self management, you will probably be better off by having a job on the side when you start. You can quit when you can't find enough time to handle all the orders that your business generates
