Cool Good-bye Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman

    Greeting Fastlaners and to-be Fastlaners:

I just finished reading the Millionaire Fastlane. What a major mindset shift. I thank DeMarco for his frank truth and his compassion to help us living a better life.

I am taking an Fastlane exit.

Take a hike Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman!

Funny although don't be too quick to dismiss "Slowlane" advice as it usually relates to financial discipline and money systems... that is also needed in the Fastlane. Welcome aboard.

I agree that financial discipline is needed.

In my younger years I threw all caution to the wind with my ventures. Generally continual negative net worth but I had dreams! At 40 years old I compromised to a slowlane job and a slowlane business on the side, I've accumulated the amount in the last 15 years that I dreamed of with my get rich schemes doing HARD work.

My suggestion is that unless you are working a fastlane plan that is paying off that you build capital in the slowlane to finance your next BIG venture.

It doesn't do any good to have million dollar ideas with a zero dollar bank balance and a lazy work ethic as no one will lend to you.

I agree wholeheartedly. Dave Ramsey's advice has helped steer us clear of many headaches and also motivated us to take the necessary steps that enabled us to become completely debt free within a couple years. Dave also has a great book that I enjoyed and received tremendous value from - Entreleadership.

Allen, would you say it is "Fastlane" worthy? Would I like it? If so, I'd give it a read.

It's really a book about how to develop entrepreneurial leaders within your company. Basically a company playbook for how to train up leaders and how to develop a company culture of unity. Probably more beneficial to biz owners with employees and sales staff (or aspire to have such) but it does have benefit to those looking for some sage business wisdom.
