Hi all,
I am almost done reading the Fastlane book and have been hooked since page one. I read other well-known books in the same category before, but this is the only one that really made sense to me and got me thinking seriously how to turn my life around. My life and work has been fun and interesting but it was always clear to me that what I am currently doing will never lead to financial freedom, yet this is what I must and will achieve.
I am originally from Germany, living in the U.S. since several years, but am planning to return to Europe as soon as I am on the path to financial independence. It seems an online business would provide maximum flexibility. Based on the Fastlane philosophy and tips in the book I developed an idea for an online business which I believe has a lot of potential if done right.
I am not quite sure though where to find the time for the development of the website while working a full-time job and having two small children, yet it must happen. My online research revealed that in the U.S. there is no-one filling that market niche yet, but I just found a "Coming Soon, Under Construction" webpage of someone in the UK who is working on basically the exact same idea. I guess the this shouldn't be discouraging, after all it shows that other people also believe there is a market for it and competition invigorates the business, right?
The other concern I have is whether I can even do it alone or should look for partners right away. At this point I am a bit concerned about taking on a partner since it would have to be someone with the right skills and someone I can completely trust. I am pretty good at programming myself and have worked with content management systems before (Plone), so I can develop at least something basic and just need to keep educating myself along the way.
Anyway, so much for introduction. I am sure I will learn a lot from the Fastlane forum and hopefully can contribute valuable advise and experiences in return. Looking forward to it!
