Default Adding background checks on a website

Im wondering how would any of you go through background checks if you wanted to add that feature lets say to a site this even? Would you have to store users SSN's or is there some API from a company that can do it all securely without leaving the site. I would rather not be responsible for people SSN's, and also it would be nice to do it through the actual site.

    Ideal situation:

    1) User A has a button on their profile "request my background check"

    2) User B Requests the background check

    3) User B then Goes to payment portal

    4) User B pays

    5) User B then is transferred to next page and views background check on site or downloads file.

Maybe it could get emailed to the purchaser? Not as nice but maybe safer and simple to do for the background check provider. Any ideas on how to make simple, and without me storing SSN on my server would be great, also i dont mind if there is something like powered by BackroundChecker id actually prefer that.

    thank you.

I don't have much to add to your questions, but I am very interested in this question, too.

I think that this would be great for an apartment/rental real estate site. Not only can you qualify your leads, its also a way to "prove" that the lead came through your site (since you have their credit report), and are entitled to the referral.

Good question and I look forward to hearing more replies!

5 minutes later, got it. They run it through the site like an API, so most likely there is a landing page which uses their code. The only problem i see is there not making any money off of it. So basically if it costs them 10.00 their charging 10.00. I definitely wouldn't do that. I would think charging 49.99 for a backround check sounds reasonable, so make 30 off of it.

I think this would be the smartest solution.

    You have brokers.
    You have potential buyers.

Either one of these roles can request there own background check... then in their profile it will say background check passed... this you should charge 49.99

    BUT

Either one of the roles should be able to request a background check on someone if that user has not done it for themselves yet....

    Then you should charge $19.99

If someone request a backgrounds check on another user, it will update their profile with that existing background check meaning they got one for free.

If anyone want the company who can provide this PM me.

I would love to hear if anyone agrees with how i would set it up. Is it going to bother members that they see im charging more for them to do it themselves? I think its valid because this is a big plus to have on your profile so you should have to pay extra to accredit yourself.
