Default Fastlaners with computer/calculations skills Needed :P

Hello fellow fastlaners, I got a fastlane idea I want to shoot at. It's a classified add site for Renting apartments and selling apartments in my country. Country population is around 5 million and there is a big competitor.

My Limitation at the moment is my web design/programming skills are limited look at my site Beste Kredittkort - For de Smarte which is basicly my making web page skills xD ( it does earn revenue tought about 1 sale in 10 clicks so far xD)
In this page I used Jomla, dream viewer to make it. doesnt look to appealing I know.....

So im wondering if I should hire someone to make the classified page for me,I can add the text myself later but the functions for a classified site with order automation directed to a email adress? How hard could that be?
So if you guys where me would you pay someone to do it, and how much would it cost. Atm I can save around 2000$ /Month

Or would you learn too program for it? In the case anyone one is good in this field please let me know, I want to know what programs is most essential making a classified ad site.

Oh further information if you are interested.
My big competitor is this site which runs all kinds of classified adds from cars, houses, jobs, and yard sales, business property all in one site. I saw another site making it pretty popular in the Rental homes market so I see a oppertunity to nich out this one and try making it better. Jus`t nead a small market cap before I can reinvest the earned capital to beat the shit out of them

Making the site yourself gives you complete control, but it will take awhile for you to learn the programming basics.

So we're talking 10% conversion rate - I'd say that's very very good!

About the website, if you can further describe what you'd want maybe I can quote you, I do web development. You can PM me for that matter.

Learning to do it yourself is also a perfectly solid option, especially given that you're young and probably can use it for some other projects as well. If you chose that route, I'll gladly help with some advice as needed. Sources for learning programming are abundant and cheap or free.

Your landing page looks good, you don't need anything fancy, in fact simple pages often convert much better.
But I would suggest you add way more content on the first page with repeated call to actions. That way people who need more convincing can keep reading while the rest clicks on to the next site anyway.

Maybe add a few graphs comparing the benefits of different cards etc

Now to your other project. As a developer (hint hint ) I would highly suggest you get two people, someone for the design and someone for the code. I haven't met a single good coder who can also design or the other way around.

I don't think I completely understand the website requirements though.

So you need a website where users can signup and post whatever they have to sell. Then someone orders and the user gets an email? I'm a bit confused about this part.

How do you plan to make revenue from the website? Charge for ads? Charge for premium ads? Get a % of each sale? (Last one is much harder to do than the other 2)

Personally I would charge less than 2000$ if you don't need complicated payment processing, if I understood correctly what you need.

The design will be a few hundred at most if you go with a standard designer, if you want the best quality try 99designs.com

    Cheers

Sry for late reply pps, ive shot my as up with testorone and been kinda busy so yeah :P

Yo pat, Im going charge everytime somone put up an add for property, or rental.
Of course will make this free unthil i get a good stream of traffic first.

Yeah basicly nead a site which has demographic listing, so they can choose region,
price range and stuf like that and make searches.
This is for the people who are looking for x z y Apartment.

For the clients i want some kind of order form which when completed will be mailed to an email addressso I can make it somewhat automated before i invest big bux.

But im not sure if i should learn myself yet, because it would be allot of testing an tweaking in the start. And hiring a programmer here will cost me 7000+++ dollars a month, which is more than i earn pr month.

However if it comes down too bringing in a developer/programmer, (Same thing?) then your up Pat :P

    Cheers
